I’ve used the Translucent Makeup for a very long time and have liked it a lot. I can’t understand why Dr. Hauschka has chosen to replace it with this. They could have kept both! This is a total disaster for my skin. Firstly, the lightest shade is too dark for me even in Summer. Secondly, this contains coconut oil which makes my face break out in large, painful cysts. Thirdly, the finish of this one is inferior to the Translucent Makeup, because this one cakes and settles into pores and fine lines I didn’t even know I had. It never gives me that gorgeous, my-skin-but-better look that Translucent Makeup did, and which somehow managed to conceal flaws without making you look like you were wearing makeup at all. This looks like foundation on. Period.
I’m very disappointed with Dr. Hauschka and I hope they’ll see sense and bring Translucent back.

I was worried I would hate this! I used to use the translucent makeup which was discontinued, because literally nothing else will not cause irritation on my face. This is actually better than the translucent makeup, and it doesn’t mess with my insanely sensitive skin. It is the only makeup I have found that works for TRULY sensitive skin.
Obviously other makeup works better, but I imagine you have to sacrifice quality to keep it natural. I wanted SO MUCH for Laura Mercier’s tinted moisturizer to work, but that also irritated the hell out of my skin.
So, if you, like me, are at wit’s end trying to find good sensitive skin makeup, I think you should settle for this. It’s not the best, but it doesn’t irritate.

I’m very, very happy with this newest version of Dr. Hauschka foundation. I have yellow under-toned acne-prone skin. I use Alpha Hydrox oil free10% Glycolic acid twice a day (terrific product and a game changer for me). My skin is so acne prone that I have yet to find a moisturizer that doesn’t cause my skin to break out. I’d been using Dr. Haushka Translucent Makeup for over a year and have loved the product — very natural looking, felt good on my skin, and no break outs. On the expensive side, but I like using a more natural product and one that doesn’t cause problems, and so it’s worth the extra money. The only problem was that the color choices all ran too pink-toned for my skin. After ordering samples of Dr. Hauschka’s new foundation, I chose #04 Hazelnut (warm, for medium to light dark skin tones). Wonderful match for my yellow under-toned skin. Feels good on, looks natural and my sensitive, acne prone skin loves it. And I’ve found that even better is using a combination of their foundations — the new foundation in #04, and the Translucent Makeup in #03 as a bronzer. I dampen an EcoTools Skin Perfecting Brush to apply the new #04 foundation all over, and then immediately apply the #03 Translucent with the same brush over my cheekbones, etc. as my bronzer. It has worked out beautifully, and after years of disappointment with other foundations, I’d gotten to a point where I didn’t think that was possible!
