Beautiful and amazing foundation! The original Photofocus foundation was just ok for me, and I ended up not using it for too long. This does not have that paint smell that the original had, either. It applies and blends so easily. I have found I can apply with fingers, sponge or brush, and get beautiful results any way. I find my favorite with this is fingers, however. The only place I get any creasing at all is my forehead, and I get that with nearly every foundation. It is minimal, and with just a light powdering on the forehead right after application, it stops. I do lightly powder my whole face, but I powder with any foundation I wear. I use a primer, and have found that most of the primers in my collection work well with it. I have gone with just moisturizer under it so see if works without a primer, and that worked fine too. This wears well, looks good all day. I don’t find it super-dewy at all, like you would have to worry about looking greasy. However, I do have dryer skin now. This probably would not be for oily skin. The coverage is good, a solid medium that you can build to high medium, probably not really a full coverage foundation. You can sheer it out with a damp sponge if you like lighter coverage. I wear Shell Ivory in their other foundations, and it stayed true to color in this one. I do see that the shade range would be an issue for a lot of people. Other than that, this is so well done for such an inexpensive foundation.

First Impressions: I was looking for something to replace my HG Urban Decay Naked Skin (it’s been discontinued). I was a shade 1.0, then in the summer 3.5 matched, then I ended up mixing 0.5 and 1.0 towards the end.
In this foundation, I am shade Nude Ivory. I was nervous about buying the foundation online but this was a great color match. Very neutral as advertised.
It gives good, build able coverage. I applied it with both a sponge and brush and I prefer the sponge.

The hardest part is picking a shade as many of them look so similar. There are only 20 shades, mostly in the light to medium shade range so it could be improved. According to the foundation match web sites I should wearing either Soft Beige or Buff Bisque however both seemed a little too dark and peachy for my complexion so I ended up getting Nude Ivory (light neutral). Although this shade seemed way too pale for me it worked out fine (at least until the warmer weather comes and my skin tans some at which point I will purchase a deeper shade). The paddle applicator isn’t awful and the coverage of this foundation is surprisingly good with one light layer. I barely noticed the “paint-like” smell so it must have improved from the matte version people complained about. I wouldn’t say the finish is dewy, more satin or natural on me (I use one light layer only) and it also provides a very comfortable feel, without accentuating any fine lines or dryness. I’m glad I never tried the original as it might have been too drying on my normal to dry skin. I would have liked a tad more radiance but what can you do. Cream and powder products apply well overtop, creams do not lift the foundation and powders blend smoothly, no patchiness experienced by me. Wear time is also good, going about 12 hours before starting to gracefully fade away.
Edit 2020-03-17: I went back a few days ago to purchase Buff Bisque and when I mix it with Nude Ivory I get a great shade match for me. It’s so affordable I don’t mind having to mix the two together.

I bought this because i have normal to dry skin and i really needed a foundation that would help my skin to look more radient and not reveal dry patches on my skin. I had low expectations but finally brought it and wow…I must say im impressed. The color range is ridiculous and i found a close enough shade match but it really is a pretty good foundation. My skin doesnt look dry and it really makes the skin look nice. Best of all..no paint smell like the othet wet n wild foundation. Would give five lippys if they improve color range but it really is good.

WOW! This was a total surprise! I have dry, mature skin with some fine lines and this stuff sits on it like a dream. I was solely using Missha Signature Complete BB Cream as it was the only thing that I could wear that wouldn’t accentuate my dry patches or make my pores look horrendous. It is kind of pricey so imagine my surprise that this little $6 foundation gave me the same finish and longer wear time in a tone that matched my skin tone to perfection! This gem is fantastic at smoothing the skin and providing a gorgeous glow. It stays looking like I just applied it for hours. I have gotten sweaty performing in this foundation and it still wore extremely well! This foundation is better than many high end foundations that I’ve tried. Wet n Wild rocks! I prefer this 100% over the original PhotoFocus. That one sucked the life out of my skin, This one, however…it HG status for me. Yay for awesome drug store make up that out performs high end!

Like this foundation a lot!!! Can’t beat the price!!! Feels nice on my skin. Lots of colors, I bought the lightest color. Put some bronzer over it for some color. I am 63 so I was hoping it wasn’t too shiny on my combo skin. It looks really nice and stayed put all day!

I love this foundation. With all my heart. Yes, the color range is a**, but I love the texture. It goes on dewy, it does not crease. I don’t even have to set it (but I do anyway teehee). This was my intro into makeup. It was like $4 when I bought it. It blends well with my contour color or with another color when I’m tanner. The downside to me is that, it being on the low price range, I think maybe the ingredients are not of amazing quality. No complaints, I don’t care too much because that is expected at the price range. I got myself a big girl job and now I use Urban Decay. My skin loves it. I don’t know if it is because my bottle is old (2+ years so more than likely) or what, but it seems to make me breakout. I have sensitive skin in the sense that my skin loves natural stuff but if anything is too chemical it will break out. Otherwise, I have amazing skin. Very elastic, bright, smooth, minimal wrinkles for age 25. But I just freaking love this foundation for brightening the undereye area! I’m going to buy a new bottle and see what it does. My sister (very acne-prone skin, whereas I am not acne-prone at all) also uses this one and she does break out. So I’m not sure if there is a correlation or not. I hope not 🙁

I bought this because of YouTube. I have mature skin, dehydrated normal to oily, sensitive skin. I like a foundation that doesn’t look cakey, settle into fine lines and lasts all day. This foundation is awesome for the price. My skin looked healthy all day. Gave a nice medium coverage. Didn’t look oily by the end of the day. Gave my skin a nice glow. I didn’t blot or powder. I would repurchase.

ETA- tested this another day to see how it wore since I like to compare— this is not dewy AT ALL. On my skin, this dried down to matte just like the original. In some spots, like around my mouth, it was trying to flake. Same for a dry spot between my brows. I ended up having to dab moisturizer over those areas to stop the flaking. I applied my light moisturizer beforehand like I normally do, and then applied soft ivory mixed with some yellow pigment to make it more golden (which worked well), but I was surprised at how dry this became, even with a damp sponge. Docking to 1 lippie, as I dont think this is dewy at all. Im not sure what WnW thought would make this dewy, but they failed. Second day of wear, this is as dry on my skin as the original. It also does still oxidize, as up close, i had spots still flaking and spots getting shiny, so I decided to remove my full face, and the foundation was straight up orange on my makeup wipe, even after adding yellow pigment. It oxidizes orange, which isnt flattering if you have melasma which darkens your face already. Giving a low rating because this claims to be dewy, and on my skin, its not even close. If my skin doesn’t look dry until I apply a foundation, we’ve got issues. Still keeping my soft ivory bottle to try in the summer, but i have a feeling this will be one ill never use and eventually declutter because it will be old. (Also tried it again another day mixed with moisturizer and this is STILL super dry on my skin. I also noticed that this transfers like crazy when you blot. Not impressed. It looks nice from a distance, but up close, you can just see how dry it is and how it settles into lines.)

There aren’t many reviews out there for this being its so new, I grabbed two bottles off Ulta online. None of my local stores have this yet. I’ve worn the original version of this, but got rid of it once it got old. I’m NC15/20, yellow golden olive, with oily T zone and some super dry spots. Large pores. I do not like full coverage, I prefer natural. I wear NYX nude, UD 30CG, Bourjois 51.
I wore Soft ivory + soft beige in the original, since one was too light and the other too dark, but both were not yellow or golden enough. They were too neutral/pink. The same is true for the dewy shades, so yellow/golden olive gals, take heed. I grabbed soft ivory and golden beige in the dewy, thinking I could mix a dab of the golden beige to neutralize the pink tones in soft ivory and also darken it a bit.
Well, golden beige is getting donated, as this stuff oxidizes/dries down dark. One of the YT reviews mentioned this as well, so I think soft ivory will work after it oxidizes. Because of this, I believe these shades will match you a bit differently than the original. The soft ivory in the original was straight up white on my skin, this one darkens a shade. Just fyi.
Same component, same spatula, there is a scent but its milder, and more scented vs. smelling like paint. Formulation – I applied one layer with a damp sponge, went in with a little more to test (so its buildable) but was impressed for an on-the-fly application over clean skin. I didn’t have any flakes, but noticed it looks like makeup. 2 layers, it looks like makeup. It covered my melasma and redness, so I’d say medium coverage. You can tell with building up coverage, you’re wearing makeup. I wouldn’t call this natural but it looked very nice. Since I used a sponge, it was dewy upon application, but it does dry down and becomes more of a satin matte. I wouldn’t call this dewy. I have some forehead lines and this didn’t gather in them, but i did have settling where it caused creases in areas once it set. I think smoothing out with a brush might be better to prevent that, as sponges sorta blob the foundation over crease areas. Its also a lotiony-thick consistency. It dries down to the touch, but since I tested two layers (which i normally would never wear, as I prefer less and natural), in my opinion, this can look heavy but does lay on the skin nicely. Bonus points for not flaking on my skin!
I’m a little disappointed (so 3 lippies), as I was hoping for more natural, dewy, fresh look, but once this dries, taking the crazy oxidization into play, it settles and loses that bonus. I’m also bummed the shades jump and run pink/neutral. However, I’m glad to have a bottle in my collection and I may play around with it like I did with the original, mixing it with moisturizer or other fdtns that are more yellow. Its cheap, with decent ingredients (no alcohol and no red flag comedogenic ingredients). I say grab a bottle and try it, but unless it mixes amazing with other fdtns, I dont think id repurchase because of the pink undertones. That may change after I play more with it.
