This foundation is not bad on face. It makes my face look nice and smooth. The problem is that it causes scratchy face the next day. Sometimes it causes a few acnes or pimples. Not bad, but for that price I recommend something else.

I like this product, I’ve purchased it in two shades, kind of hard to match my neck as my face is way whiter so bronzer of some kind is usually required.
I’m not the best at doing make up, so some days it looks great, other days it just looks ok. I find if you take your time with the application it looks better (probably true of everything).
In my opinion it offers full coverage, it is pretty lightweight and compared to other foundations the price is really reasonable. I think for every day wear this drugstore product is a gem.

It’s lightweight. If you already have good skin then you’re eating money buying this. If you have blemishes expect it to cover then for approximately 6 hours and then wear off. I used Maple (nc50 similar shade). Is ok but like I said, gym? No way, beach? No way, rain? No way. It just doesn’t last.

All I know is that this one is a keeper! Gives my skin a smooth, matte yet natural, poreless finish. I’m like NC25-30 and Sand Beige is perfect for me. After applying I dust some NYX Banana Finishing Powder over my face and I’m done! Love this line!!

i have yet to find a perfect foundation, so i’m always trying new ones whenever i run out. i love other NYX products so i bought their HD studio photogenic foundation and its one of the worst i’ve bought. it cakes up horribly on my face, even with light application. i would not recommend it to anyone.

It matches my skin tone perfectly (wonderful considering I didn’t even test it on my skin prior to purchasing). However, at this price point I really don’t think it’s much better than the Cover Girl/Maybelline/other well known drugstore liquid foundations that are half the price. It does last long, I’ll give it that. My makeup still looks decent after an 8 hour day with no touching up. I can’t justify the price though. I’ll use the rest of it but have no intentions of buying it again.

My Shade: Nude
Other shades that work for me: TF BTW Porcelain, EL Doublewear 1N2 Ecru, MAC C1.
I really like this foundation. I am roughly NC15-20 and use the shade Nude, which is a good match. This foundation does not oxidise on my skin which is another bonus. It applies evenly and smoothly, and is very easy to work with. You can build this up to a medium coverage. It does not look heavy or cakey on the skin, even when I don’t use primer. It also does not clog my pores which is another benefit! Overall this is a great foundation at a very low price. I would recommend it to anyone as I think it suits all skin types.

Note: The packaging has changed. It’s no longer in a pump bottle but is now in a black squeeze tube.
Totally loving this foundation. I was a hardcore user of MUFE’s High Definition foundation until I had a skin freak out a few years ago and had to toss out EVERYTHING. My skin has since returned to normal, but in the last year or so, I switched to using MAC’s Face & Body foundation and was cool with it for the most part. The real issue was the price of both MUFE and MAC, as well as the fact that I wanted to switch to a brand that was affordable and didn’t test on animals. Enter NYX. I’m a late convert to NYX, but wow, am I impressed! FINALLY, a makeup brand that is affordable and ethical! And it doesn’t suck!
So, regarding the HD Studio Photogenic Foundation…
Pros: The “Nude” shade is perfect for my fair skin, and the quality of the product itself is fantastic. Goes on easily, not streaky, is buildable. I can say it definitely is as close a dupe for MUFE HD Foundation as you’re gonna get without paying an arm and a leg for it (it’s US$17.99 at my local Ulta, so while it’s not, say, Covergirl or Maybeline cheap, it’s still half the price of the equivalent MUFE foundation, so I’ll take it).
The biggest plus is that it sits beautifully on my notoriously dry and stubborn skin. I used the clear NYX Photo Loving Primer as a base and the foundation went on as smooth as could be. Haven’t noticed any flaking or dry patches and it’s not feeling tacky or cakey like MAC Face & Body. I always was aware of MAC Face & Body on my skin, but I can’t feel this stuff at all.
Cons: For me, there aren’t really any cons, but I will say that the color range is pretty limited. The difference between shades 101 (Nude) and 102 (Sand Beige) is massive. Seriously, there should be at least two tints-worth of gradation between the two, and if you fall between that range, you’re out of luck. I was a bit concerned I was actually going to fall into that gap, myself, when I swatched them on my arm, but turns out that 101 was perfect for me.
The Verdict: Great coverage for dry skin + Affordable + Cruelty-free = Love It.

Hello MUA,
I’m going to just jump right into my review of NYX HD Studio Photogenic Foundation.
I first noticed that the pic of this must be an older pic, because now it comes in a tube. I am an avid user of NYX lipsticks and lipgloss, but I never tried the foundation. To speak the truth I only bought it because it was a dupe for a “high-end” foundation that I can not afford! My color is HDF 102, soft beige. It’s a High Definition foundation, and IT’S AWESOME! It glides on your skin and it is very buildable with its coverage. I only needed one normal application. My skin looks absolutely flawless and it leaves your skin absolutely smooth! It doesn’t cake up, or crease, it looks very light and feels very light, even in the sunshine. It doesn’t slide off of my face. It went through the test of hazy, hot, and tropically humid and it stayed! No smudging, no dripping, no problems at all! It stays true to the color and doesn’t oxidize like Kat Von D Lock It Tattoo Foundation. It blends easily to your face and neck. No line of any kind. I use a stipple brush to put this foundation on, and I use a circular motion going in both directions. This helps or blur’s any pores that give you any problems. My skin type is combination, and I am over 40 years old. This IS an amazing product and my “NEW” HG Foundation! I actually don’t have to use an over 40 product anymore! I was VERY pleasantly surprised with this foundation! Absolutely Love It! Yes, I DO Highly Recommend It, and Yes, I Will repurchase this product Again!
*For those lady’s who have tried it and didn’t care at all about the product.. I urge you to try it out again! YOU WILL NOT Be Disappointed with the results! I’m thinking if they changed the packaging, they must have fixed the formulation. BELIEVE Me, I am very picky and finicky about what I put and use on my face! I bought this at Ulta for $16.00 and it is worth every penny! Always start off with less, then if you need more, apply it then. But a little bit goes a long way!!!*
I didn’t stop there though. I also bought NYX Blotting Powder Pressed Powder, NYX HD Concealer Mineral Enriched Formula without talc and parabens, NYX Above And Beyond Full Coverage Concealer and the new Maybelline New York Master Prime Primer with Octinoxate Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 30 Blur and Illuminate. I can’t wait to share those reviews with you also MUA. ????????

I had such high hopes for this foundation as I love most NYX products. Also, my product, which has the exact same name as this one, comes in a tube, not a bottle.
Coverage is so important to me to deal w/ melasma, minor redness and rosacea. I’m 50, so nothing that accentuates lines will work for me. I always and ONLY use my beautyblender or real techniques sponges for foundation application.
Nude 101 is a great match for me (for reference…hold onto your hat) …I wear the following: MAC = NC15; EM (semi-matte) = Fairly Light; Rimmel Lasting Finish 25 hour = #100 Ivory; Revlon ColorStay = #150 Buff; Avon Smooth Minerals Pressed Foundation = T04 Nude; EL Double Wear = Desert Beige; Jane Iredale = pressed base in Bisque; Lumene CC Cream = Fair; Smashbox Camera Ready CC = Fair; IT Cosmetics CC + = Light; Diorskin Forever Flawless Perfection Wear in 020 light beige; Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24H in 210N Buff; CG Outlast 3 in 1 in Classic Ivory 810; Holika Holika Petit BB Moisturizing (formerly moist).
This coverage is medium AT BEST and that is w/ several layers = YUK for me! Seems to accentuate my fine lines too. I always wear w/ my primer underneath and setting spray, so can’t speak to the longevity on its own.
For me this produce does not work…what a shame!
