I have been using this product for several years now. Absolutely LOVE it. It provides full coverage and stays on. It applies very nicely and evenly and is easy to blend. I noticed while swimming that it only faded slightly. You do need a good makeup remover to get it off. I use either Neutrogena or Taget’s Up & Up. (Both are exact same formula but Target’s brand is cheaper.)

I would class this as 3.7 out of 5. I was quite surprised with this one. It was just a few dollars so I thought it was worth trying as I hate paying full price for something & end up not liking it.
I love the mousse consistency & it goes on velvety smooth. It feels so lightweight & blends very well well on my skin. Coverage is decent & I use a tiny bit of powder on top to set.
I really like the fact that it’s a pump which is very hygienic, but with the pump comes a couple of negatives. One thing I don’t like is that sometimes the foundation doesn’t want to come out & I end up having to pump over & over, and then too much comes out. I seem to have countered this by storing it on its side but I still have issues every now and again.
I know this has been discontinued but I have seen it in discount stores. If you see it at a great price it’s definitely worth trying.

This foundation is absolutely hideous. Like others have mentioned, it doesn’t dry properly, it’s like having oil on your face and it comes off and gets onto EVERYTHING. It made my face feel so tight, itchy and oily that I couldn’t wait to get home and scrub it off. Such a disappointment, because so many of the other Colorstay products are fantastic.

i love this product, it’s one of the best products i’ve used, ever! the only problem is they discontinued it? i can’t find it anywhere. it’s so easy to apply, its not heavy, doesn’t block pores, and the coverage is amazing, i miss this product!!

There’s no way to avoid it- this foundation is oily.
I think that’s the reason for the low rating. People assume matte make up will be great for oily skin, but what matters is the formulation and this is greasy. But if you have normal or dry skin this could suit you. It sets to a matte finish put when you touch your skin it still feels ‘wet’ and greasy.
The coverage is pretty good for a foundation that does not feel heavy on your face. It would be medium coverage I think.
I like the packaging. It comes in a tube but it has a pump. Very handy. A little goes a long way, so a tube will last a long time.

When I first brought this I thought it was terrible, but after realising powder would keep the oilyness at bay, it has been wonderful for me!
Feels awesome and light on, colour match is good but after this has run out I’m going to buy the Revlon Colourstay in the glass bottle.

I love this product. its so nice, after blending it does turn into powder. i have combination skin and this kept my skin fine and matte the entire day. for those of you who are having trouble with it being oily, just set it with some pressed powder and voila! you’l have the perfect finish.

This makeup was a real disappointment to me. I love Revlon Colorstay products so had high hopes for this. When I put it onto my face it feels like I am putting oil onto my face, it is extremely greasy and feels disgusting. Then, trying to blend it is ok, but it never “dries” and no matter how much you blend or how much powder you put on top of it, you can still touch your face with your hand and it will come straight off. Yuk! I read that this is oil based -so that is no good for oily skin like mine, and you can really tell, as I said before it feels like putting greasy oil on your face. Other than that, the color selection and coverage that this offers are absolutely fantastic, I love the matte finish look it gives – I would love to use this if it dried properly, didnt come off everywhere and lasted for 12 hours like the packaging says.

I bought this in Buff the colour was good it felt smooth on application and had medium coverage. I have normal to combination skin and it stayed put for about 6 hours before it kind of melted off in the African heat. What really annoys me about this product is that it tends to settle into the tiniest creases and makes them look ten times worse! If I use less to ensure it doesn’t settle into my tiny lines the coverage is obviously not as good. So as enticing as the ads sounded it’s not going to replace my Kanebo or MAC foundations.

Revlon’s blurb totally sucked me in and persuaded me to try this new ColorStay makeup which appeared on Australian shelves recently:
“Velvety rich creme with SoftFlex that transforms into a silky, powdery veil. For a flawless finish for up to 12 hours. Controls oil breakthrough and retains the skin’s moisture.”
See how amazing it sounds? Well unfortunately for me, this is not working out. It is currently summer here and I get quite an oily t-zone. I need something to last a good 8 hour day at work without smudging and fading. I need it to conceal redness without being too heavy and mask-like.
The good parts: the great travel-friendly packaging. It’s a tube with a pump on one end which delivers a nice amount of product. A little goes a long way so although the tube might seem smaller than your average foundation bottle, I can see it lasting a while. The beautiful whipped texture is definitely a pro – it smooths on to the skin nicely. It sets after half a minute or so in warm weather so you need to work quickly. I find fingers work best for application.
The bad parts: Buff was the lightest shade on offer, so PPPs are SOL. Coverage is medium but only does an average job at concealing large pores. It does not last 12 hours on oily skin. I was lucky to get 5 before it started looking smudgy. It does not prevent oil breakthrough on me – I needed to blot after 4 hours. This is oil-based, not water based – bad news for me. It has SPF12 in it – why bother with such a low SPF?
So with all these broken promises I am tempted to give this 2 lippies or even 1 lippy but I can’t help thinking how great this would be for those who don’t have my freakishly oily t-zone. So 3 lippies it is.
