I bought the Tarte colored clay liquid foundation in a QVC special. I am new to Tarte products and had just recently started using their amazonian clay 12 hour foundation…needless to say I was impressed and the deal for the new kit with other Tarte products to try was just too tempting to pass up.
This liquid foundation is really interesting, it is FULL coverage but very light and I believe it is water based. It looks like skin…not shiny, not matte, just very pretty like fresh washed skin. What impressed me beyond the feel of this foundation was the way it covered just about every bit of redness and a blemish and I used ZERO concealer for the first time in over a decade (hello?! How awesome is that?) It came with a great little brush to apply it with and I love the brush too. It feels wet going on…it IS a liquid but I like that feeling so it was very enjoyable to apply. I also applied this foundation much faster than I do others because of the brush…very impressed.
Tarte has beautiful packaging when it comes to their makeup products unfortunately for this foundation that packaging may be the one thing I am on the line about. Oh it looks cute, it’s a pretty container, but functional it is NOT. it is a bit messy and I personally wouldn’t travel with this because of the mess factor. However that’s not a deal breaker for me, I would simply just use the other Tarte foundation I have when I travel, no biggy. Another thing about Tarte products I like it you get a lot of product for the $.
A little background on me, I was a Trish McEvoy makeup girl EXCLUSIVELY for the past 11 years. I am a brand loyalist usually but given the prices of her products keep going up but the quality remains the same I went looking for a better value. What I have found in Tarte foundations is great quality, better for your skin ingredients and looks amazing. I know not everyone will agree but for myself this is my new favorite must have brand for makeup.
