   I bought this hoping to find a more affordable cushion foundation to replace my Amore Pacific when I run out. When I first applied this foundation I was in love! The finish is pure perfection! It covers beautifully without looking heavy, cakey, or streaky. My skin looked absolutely flawless when I applied this product. Since the coverage is buildable, I was able to apply more product on areas where I needed it – without it looking uneven or patchy. This makeup leaves my skin looking youthful & dewy and doesn’t crease or settle in the fine lines around my eyes. PLUS, the medium shade matches my skin perfectly!

   HOWEVER… the first day I wore this product my skin was unbelievably shiny before noon. I gasped upon looking in the mirror because I’ve never seen my skin looking so oily! I’d applied a dusting of the Celebration powder on top which always does a great job of keeping my face looking fresh and matte all day long. Sadly, it didn’t work at all on top of this foundation. I decided to give this foundation another try the next day and applied the byTerry finishing powder on top of it. Again, my face was super oily before noon. Disclaimer: my skin is on the oily side but my face usually does not get super shiny during the day. Finishing powder always help with any oil break-through so I rarely have to blot during the day.

   Another thing to note about the first time I wore this foundation: when I went to remove my makeup at the end of the day with Garnier Micellar Water there was hardly any foundation on the cotton pads. I had applied a lot of makeup yet it had somehow disappeared or evaporated from my face over the course of the day. Very weird!

   I was debating whether or not I should keep this foundation and wear it occasionally because the initial finish is so lovely but I think I will just return it and try Lancôme’s cushion foundation next. This foundation may be best for drier skin types but sadly did not work on my normal-to-oily skin.

   PRO #1: All-in-one product which cuts down on prep time.

   At first, I followed my normal routing of applying my moisturizer/sunscreen, then letting that dry or set a bit before I put on foundation. When I did that, I thought this product was too greasy. But then I read the packaging and realized it served as moisturizer + serum + sunscreen + foundation – all in one.

   So I skipped my normal products in the morning and just used this… and MAGIC! It was perfection. I get this luminous dewy but natural look without the added moisture from my other products.

   PRO #2: BuildabIe coverage

   I appreciate how you can go as light as you want in one section then go heavier on problem spots, and still have a seamless well-blended look. (Caveat: I only use a makeup brush to apply this – I don’t use the application sponge that comes with the compact.)

   CON #1: Price

   The cost is $38 for initial investment of the foundation compact with only 0.34 oz of product (a refill is $32). When you compare that to the It Cosmetics CC Cream with 1.04 oz for the same price, I felt ripped off. It doesn’t help that after only 2 weeks of use, I’m already pounding hard with my brush just to get enough product on it. I am already thinking of doing a hack where I use the CC Cream (in the tube) to refill the compact (I saw some instructions on youtube).

   CON #2: Packaging

   At first glance, I liked the high-end chrome look and the feeling of how the rounded packaging felt in my hands – very ergonomic. Once you open the compact, however, the mirror is so small that a single thumbprint can obscure the whole view.

   NEUTRAL: Application sponge

   I apply with a makeup brush to get that flawless blending but the application sponge that comes with the compact does a good job for retouches. I try to minimize using the sponge only because it seems to absorb a lot of this (expensive) product and I feel so bad about using it.

   This is fantastic. I applied it with a Beauty Blender and it applied effortlessly. The coverage was easy to build, to a medium, I think. The finish is just perfect; luminous but not at all greasy. This also has that cushion foundation look of no makeup. I will update on longevity but so far, I love it. I wear shade Medium and it’s perfect for my NC30 skintone.

   I really love this product and Iike the delivery and portability of the compact for travel. Until getting on QVC’s auto-delivery plan for the refills, I was having a hard time finding my refill in the Light shade @ ULTA and didn’t want to buy a new compact just to get more foundation. When I finished one of the refills I decided to play around and see if I could duplicate the lighter formula myself, so I took a clean glass dish, wiped it down with alcohol and then pumped about 10 pumps of IT CC cream. I then added IT No. 50 Serum, one drop at a time and mixed with a disposal spatula until I got the right consistency. I then poured the mix back into the compact on the sponge, scraped down the sides of the bowl with the spatula to get all the product and snapped the compact shut tight and let it sit overnight untouched. The next morning it was like a fresh refill and my mix worked pretty darn good! Granted there was a lot of work involved but it worked good when I was desperate for a refill.

   I got the idea from an empty cushion compact that my good friend overseas sent me. In Asia, the women use the compacts for everything from moisturizers to BB, CC creams, etc. she sent me a couple of these and I put them to use with moisturizers since my job does tend to have me outside in the elements in some hostile weather situations when working inside plants, terminals and refineries. I needed a quick way to remoisturize my face from the elements and will pour some moisturizer and a squirt of sunblock on the sponge and throw in my PPE bag. When I feel my skin getting dry while outside working on a project, I just grab my bag and head to the ladies change house or bathroom and dab the mix on my face for some quick relief. Works great and I thought I would apply the same principle to mixing a replacement CC Veil when in a pinch for a replacement. I hope this helps anyone else that may find themselves in dire need of a refill.

   I like this foundation. This is my first experience with a cushion foundation. I’ve complained loudly, & very visibly on social media, over the years about IT’s limited range of foundation shades. Finally, this week, Jamie answered (via Facebook) that IT Cosmetics is working on expanding their shade range. For this winter I’m using the Fair shade which is my color if I were dead, but I’m too pale for the Light shade in winter. I’ve been warming it up w/ bronzer, because the foundations work so well for me. I love CC Veil. I actually own the CC cream & the two formulas wear much differently. The CC cream is heavy & I always end up using too much because my perfect amount is about 1 & 1/2 pumps. CC Veil is so much easier to use. I push my makeup brush into the sponge, lightly, & get plenty of foundation to cover my face. The finish is skin like & breathable. I need a touch more concealer, but I prefer this lighter formula. I also like that the compact is refillable to cut down on waste. I like liquid foundation, but have always preferred the simplicity of applying powder foundations. Cushion foundation is my new favorite. I also like that you can get a lot of coverage out of CC Veil, without it looking heavy.

   I am so in love the the cushion compact concept. I have used AmorePacific CC as well, but It cosmetics CC veil in Fair works well with my skin tone in the Winter, Fall and Spring months. The trick with this type of product is truly less is more. I only need to dab the sponge twice, each dab has enough product to cover half my face.

   I have been looking to replace my MAC face and body (which I still love) but I wanted more “serums and moisterizers” to stream line my morning routine. Love that it has SPF 50 The AmorePacific worked very well for me, except I can only use the lightest shade in the summer when I have a tan. So glad I tried It Cosmetics version.

   This product will result in light to medium coverage depending on use. I will still have to use a concealer if I have a blemish. Blends beautifully. Doesn’t crease into fine lines at all. Will last all day when I spritz with my UD setting spray. Leaves a almost dewy-satin finish. I don’t set with powder on my days unless I want a matte finish.

   Definitely may have found my HG daily makeup with this CC veil.

   I so wanted to love this foundation. It sounded too good to be true: anti-aging products, sunscreen, moisturizer, primer, foundation, all in one product. Alas, it disappointed me greatly. Considering the price, there isn’t much product, and you can’t even see how much there is(n’t), because it’s delivered through a set of sponges. The first face or two looked pretty good, even if the coverage wasn’t as much as I had hoped for, but it wasn’t greasy and didn’t transfer like a liquid or cream foundation. For my middleaged-plus skin, which has been combo but now leaning more to dry, it’s not nearly moisturizing enough, and the coverage is sheerer than I expected.

   This might work better for younger, moister, complexions without hyperpigmentation from sun exposure. Even then, the sponge holds on to so much product, that you’re not getting much for your money. I’m much happier with the C+C foundation in the tube, even if it’s many times heavier.

   This foundation ticks all the boxes on my list. It goes on effortlessly – I did use my own sponge, but would certainly use the one provide when traveling. The coverage is excellent for my purposes. I like a natural look, which is certainly what this provides, yet it covers flaws very well and is buildable. It has a dewy, radiant finish, which is the key factor I was looking for, since I have combination skin and am now at the age where a matte finish no longer imparts a youthful look! It doesn’t settle into pores or fine lines either – even toward the end of the day. Minimum touch-up necessary.

   I’ve read all the negative comments about how little product you get for the price. Amore Pacific, the Korean company, makes an almost identical product that costs twice as much ($60), so this is certainly not the most expensive in it’s category out there. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that a little really goes a long way. Many other foundations I tried before I found this one were so much more expensive that I actually think this is a bargain.

   If you are looking for a foundation that is easy to apply, will give you a radiant, finish and has no perfume (another huge plus, as I am highly allergic to scent), I encourage you to try this. Let me put it this way: the first day I wore it, my husband told me I looked “really young”. Now that’s something!

   I contacted It Cosmetics about this foundation and received two different answers. See..I had a suspicion that this foundation was just the regular CC cream only repackaged. One response said that no this was a lighter weight version of their CC cream. Second response came the next day and said the CC Veil and the CC cream were exact same products just in different packaging.

   CC veil Compact holds 1/3 of an ounce. CC cream in pump is 1 ounce. Both cost $38. Do the math. This makes the CC Veil Cle de Peau priced.

   So who do I believe? When I apply the 2 products they go on the same. CC Veil might be ever so slightly lighter weight but I hate the compact which is a waste of money–I can see it every time I use it. Whereas the CC cream in the pump is becoming my go-to daily makeup.

   I wear light in both.

   Also when I look at the ingredients they read the same. Just wanted to share.

    I so, so wanted to love this product. I have mixed feelings about it.

    FYI: I’m (almost) 30. Combo skin. Breakout fairly easily and have some pinkish reddish pigmentation on my face from past breakouts.

    Pros:
    – The coverage never feels cakey or heavy. It glides on easily and blends out beautifully. No complaints as far as application go. I used this with an It Cosmetics foundation brush.
    – Great color match for my skin tone. I’m pale as can be with bluish pink undertones (no yellow undertones) and Fair worked great for me.
    – When paired with their Bye Bye Pores finishing powder my pores were really invisible and I got many compliments. However, without the finishing powder, the foundation didn’t really stay in place that well for me.

    Cons:
    – It is EXPENSIVE. For the amount of product you get, this stuff is $$$$. In fact it is a bit over $111/ounce. If you’ve never done the math on your foundation before, that is borderline nuts. My daily go-to for my face is Jane Iredale’s Glow Time BB cream, which comes out to $28/ounce and lasts me months and months. In order to get the kind of coverage I need to cover my red post-acne spots, I’d end up using up the whole compact of the CC Beauty Veil in a few days. It’s a nice foundation but not $111 an ounce nice.
    – The packaging is cool, but someone else mentioned how unhygienic it is and I must agree. The foundation is a gel formula tucked beneath a sponge, which you push down upon with your brush to extract the formula. This doesn’t make it less hygienic than any pressed powder you might use, except that we’re talking about a moist sponge that is locked up in a dark case when not in use. Prime breeding ground for bacteria! On the flip side, it’s easy to travel with.

    Will I buy this again? No, simply because it is far too expensive for the amount of product that you get, and the amount of product I need to use to achieve my desired result. If money is no object for you then you should check out this foundation!
