I am one of the lovers — this product works extremely well for me & gives nice coverage without being heavy or thick. Unfortunately Smashbox has discontinued it — any hints as to where to find it or a good replacement would be appreciated.

It’s been a while since I’ve ventured from my routine and it’s almost time to replenish. I took this opportunity to give a couple of other brands/products a chance.
I purchased this CC cream in Fair/Light. Neutral color. Decent coverage as a stand alone. Evens skin tone. The scent didn’t bother me, it was undetectable. The finish is dull.
The best application was with a foundation brush, then patting with fingers. I did not find this cream easy to build up. If i added more, it did not apply as nicely but rather streaky and splotchy regardless the method of application or products paired with it. For this reason I don’t see it as a viable replacement for primer either.
From a distance this looks like a winner because of the coverage and seems to make your face a nice canvas. Upon closer inspection, though, this stuff separates, sits in pores – especially the nose and t-zone. It looks uneven in the more dry areas of my face. I could use my fingers to pat or move product around to some degree, but I don’t see this as a positive. Everything applied over it looked nice from afar but, again, not so much up close. My face looked overall way more made up than what I usually rock these days.
While not uncomfortable on the skin, this never felt like it really set no matter what I did. If this offered a more radiant finish, I could see the trade off. It transfers. Not horrible, but more than I’m used to. Even with powder, setting spray, etc. It held up pretty well through an easy day at home or office. Don’t think this will stand up to substantial humidity or sweating.
I would not purchase this again – actually will return. I suspect you can get something from the grocery store or Walgreens that would perform as well as this for a better price. I obviously won’t have this long enough to attest to any skincare benefit, but I am not one to rely on cosmetic products for my skincare including sunscreen. For reference, I’ve been using Nars Radiant Tinted Moisturizer in Finland which is my current benchmark to beat.

I’ve been reading the reviews and people seem to either love this CC cream or hate it – I can only conclude that it works (very well) for some people but not for others. Put me into the love category – this CC cream is everything I wanted NARS Matte Velvet Tint to be (which I ended up throwing out because it not only settled into every tiny pore and fine line but made my skin break out!).
I love the fact that it comes in a wide range of colors, since most BB and CC creams come in only light, medium and dark; I also love that it has an SPF of 30. I have oily-combination skin which also gets dehydrated easily and this product goes on with a matte finish (you have to apply it fast, since it’s on the thick side and dries quickly). It controls the oils in my skin so that I only have to blot once during the day (it that) and by evening, I still have a dewy but not oily finish. It evens out my skin tone somewhat but the coverage is light, not medium, so it doesn’t cover my newly-acquired sun spots on my cheeks (I have no idea how I got them, since I apply sunscreen religiously all year round).

Currently my favorite foundation even though technically it isn’t a foundation. this CC cream can be applied lightly with a beauty blender for light coverage or used with a brush for a good medium. best part is how natural this looks! now that I’m getting older am trying to use less makeup and this still makes me look polished and controls shine very very well throughout the day. LOVE IT but it’s pricey.

Very drying. I got a sample of color “Light” (also Tarte’s BB Cream in Light) but I was pretty disappointed. Easy application, strange, unpleasant smell, but the texture is too drying. Not moisturizing at all, even with the heaviest moisturizer.

I love this cc cream. I got it to wear it to work. I work in a factory with no ac or heat and this product holds up well. I wear it to make my skin tone look even due to acne, redness and dark spots. I have oily skin and I follow up with a translucent powder to lock in the cc cream and help mattify my face. I use medium and it matches me perfectly. It blends out easily and apply it using a foundation brush or I buff it out sometimes.
My routine :
Wash face
Moisturize
Apply cc cream
Follow up with translucent powder
Spray makeup holder
Bottom line is…I love this stuff. Makes me look natural because it’s not full coverage and evens out my skin tone.

Ok,I love this Cc cream but it has a manual.
It was perfect on my oily t-zone with the light primer. But due to a better cleanser and bha exfoliant my t-zone isn’t really oily anymore.
And this products can accentuate dry spots.
Because of the bha exfoliant I needed a product with sunscreen. This Cc cream contains that.
I use it on days I want to put something on but don’t want full coverage. It doesn’t Hide my redness but is Softens my appearence and I received multiply compliments on my skin when I used it.
So how do I use this:
1. Clean my skin
2. Toner
3. Moisturiser! (I use moisture surge Clinique)
I wait ten minutes to let the moisturiser sink in
4. Cc cream (thin layer, it gets cakey when you use to much)
I tried applying it with my fingers, but I prefer my foundationbrush
Edit: It works great with the Real Techniques stippling brush!
5. Concealer (got deep dark circles under need my eyes)
Pro
– Your skin but better
– Perfect skin tone match (fair)
– No allergic reaction
– Stays put on my nose
– Sunscreen spf 30
– Corrects dark spots (in combination with my bha exfoliant)
– Lovely Sa with good advice, was generous with samples and how to use this product.
Con
– Can emphasize blackheads
– No layering
– Needs some practice to apply nice
– Expensive (but I haven’t found a better Cc cream yet)

this formula felt greasy and slippery when applying. Even over primer (smashbox photo finish color correcting) and with some setting powder, it felt kinda sticky and did not set to a smooth finish. Because of this, it slid around and off in patches, while collecting in the corners of the nose after a few hours. (note that i spend all day in school w/ P.E. and lots of movement)
I wouldn’t say it’s awful, but the texture of it put me off. I’ll still finish the tube, especially now in the summer because i do like the spf 30

OK I’ve had this for two months now,and used it every day. I was at Sephora and asked the SA what CC cream she would recommend. She swore this is their best seller and the best CC cream. I have very light/fair skin with sunspots, some redness and acne. It does nothing for me unfortunately and did not help with the discoloration at all. I have dry skin, this CC cream showed off every single flaw, made my skin look dull and dry. It dry’s very fast so you have to apply it very quick. Just recently I started breaking out again around my chin area not sure if it’s because of this. It has light coverage, I tried applying a little more but ended up streaky, It lasts up to 6 hrs I would say but does end up looking a little orange at the end of the day. I wish I could get my $40 back. I guess this works better for someone who has very oily skin. If you want a CC cream I recommend the IT Cosmetics one, I got a small sample size from Ulta and so far am liking it.

I finally gave this a good few weeks of wear and think it’s a good lightweight formula that gives a little coverage. My skin is very dry so I apply it over a moisturizer, and it blends and smoothes out well into a semi matte finish. I do break out a little after wearing it all week, but otherwise don’t experience any other problems.
I repurchased this mainly because I knew what I was getting into and pair it with the smashbox dermaxyl for those days when I want some extra spf.
