This foundation is wonderful! I love it! It gives a soft matte, airbrushed finish that looks amazing all day. I’m NC25 and BD30 Warm Almond is a great match. I always use the Touche Eclat Blur Primer underneath and the All Hours concealer – on my list of top foundations I’ve ever tried!

Quite a disappointment. This contains fragrance, alcohol, fungal acne triggers and citric acid. Please do not purchase if you have acne prone or sensitive skin. This caused me to breakout badly along my jawline for the first time in my life.
It left my pores looking extremely visible and my face dull and dry rather then glowing even alongside their orange primer I bought. Alongside the Laura Mercier translucent powder this still doesn’t last more then 5 hours. The worst foundation I have ever bought, even my cheapest foundation maybelline fit me is longer lasting and finishes better.
High end isn’t always best.

Probably the worst expensive foundation I ever tried. The finish is very dull, unnaturally matte and merely settles on top of the skin, exaggerating any dry skin patches and pores you may have (even those you haven’t notice before), even with an oil-based primer underneath. This also claims to build to a full coverage but I found the coverage to be medium at best and I agree with another reviewer here that as you build it, it gets more cakey and separates instead. I have tried blending this a foundation brush, a duo fiver round brush, a sponge and my fingers but it would’t blend any better. The only good things I can say about it is the shade BD25 which was a good match for my fair to light yellow skin-tone and the lux package but really, this was a waste of money overall. Off to my swap list…

The formula for this is great – full coverage without looking cakey. Lasts all day, too.
However, the only problem
I had with this was not being able to find a good match to my NW20 skin. Naturally, my skin is very pink and I like yellow based foundation. Upon the recommendation of the SA, we tried B40 and BR40, but both were still a bit too rosy for my taste. If they had a more yellow based shade, I would certainly stick with this foundation, so if you find a color match, you are lucky!

This is my HG foundation. So matte, flattering and natural looking without ever being cakey. I have very very oily skin and have been wearing foundation from the age of 14. Not once has any tinted moisturizer or foundation stayed on with the tenacity of this stuff! It lasts for hours and never settles into creases around my nose/eyes. I apply this with a very stiff synthetic kabuki brush, very similar to using an Artis brush. I recommend using a similar tool because you’ll save on product and combined with the buffing action this looks flawless! It’s the lightest weight yet full coverage foundation I’ve found and is very buildable. This is most definitely your skin but better.
The scent is to die for–lightly floral without ever being cloying and eventually dissipates.
The packaging is heavy and luxurious. It’s more expensive but not much more than say Lancome Teint Idole for example. It goes on sale with Sephora’s occasional sales if you want to stock up. One star off because yes, it’s smaller than 1 fl oz.
I found the color for light/medium skin colors to match me very well (BD35 Warm Caramel). I use it with the Almond color YSL All Hours concealer and it’s so incredibly flattering together. I’ll be so sad if this ever gets discontinued, it’s lovely!

All Hours is the first foundation from YSL which I have ever tried, and I am extremely impressed. Whilst I never wear foundation for 24 hours, I have worn this for around 10-12 hours each time I have worn it, and it always looks exceptional at the end of the day. It doesn’t fade, seperate or smudge throughout the day, it simply remains looking fresh. Some of my natural oils do appear, but not enough to justify re-powdering. I think it is great wear time! I find this foundation applies best with a damp beauty blender, and a little goes a long way. It is buildable, and definitely a medium-full coverage. It still never looks cakey or mask-like on the skin, it truly just makes your skin look like itself – just better. It is a matte finish, but is not drying. It doesn’t tend to crack or sink into lines or pores like other matte foundations can. I get a lot of compliments on my skin when wearing this foundation, it just looks so flawless and healthy. I love this foundation and would highly recommend it.

Is this just my impression or all the latest bases released from various brands are total fails? This is a new foundation offering from YSL beauty and it is so hyped up that I can even obtain a sample of it in Scotland – unheard of! I had previously enjoyed their Touche Eclat foundation that they reformulated twice and it went from relatively usable to bad and I never came back to purchase anything from this brand (love their mascaras though). I got tempted by this one as one of my favourite Youtubers Angie from Hot and Flashy was raving about it and we seem to have a very similar taste in foundations (I got one of my favourite foundations Chanel’s Perfection Lumiere that has recently been reformulated AS WELL!! on her channel’s recommendation).
Luckily I managed to obtain 2 samples before forking out £35: one in BD 40 (which was my colour in Touche Eclat foundation) and one in BR30 that the lady at the YSL counter said would be suitable for me as the foundation apparently oxidises. Sadly BD40 in this formula is a tone too dark for me and BR30 is too pale and too pink/orange (my skin is leaning from neutral to warm and has some olive undertones). These worked surprisingly well when mixed together but I’d rather try it in a right colour than have 2 unsuitable ones to mix and that might but not necessarily always will create an ideal one.
So let’s talk about the formula and why I only gave it 2** Because it looks extremely heavy and visible on the skin and its lasting 24h is a wishful thinking from the brand! I wore it for about 6 hours by which stage it was basically gone from my nose, forehead and chin and I have normal/dry skin. I applied it with fingers over my usual sunscreen (mineral REN and Arden’s new 8 hours pf 35) which is my preferred method but maybe I should have gone with a BB sponge as well.
It gives a heavy, makeup feel, all the pores seem to be twice as large (no polka dots as Angie calls them though), it is very visible on the skin. None of the subtle gliding of Perfection Lumiere here. You look like you are wearing makeup (not my preferred look, I’d rather look like I just rolled out of bed with a perfect skin! and there ARE foundations that give that look, although these tend to be reformulated…) and after several hours you’ll look like you are wearing makeup that went patchy as well.
I did not feel much of a fragrance or alcohol there nor did it block any pores on my face. Although with a long wearing formula I was especially diligent with my double cleansing. Additional star for a pump bottle although it should be a standard these days.

Positives:
– Creamy, perfect texture.
– Application is easy. Foundation spreads well and doesn’t dry quickly. Super nice to move around
– DOES NOT OXIDIZE. I can’t stress this enough. It does not change colour. Wonderful formula. Would probably be the main reason I had re-purchased and would still re-purchase.
– Personally matched my skin tone beautifully; I’m a very cool toned person. My neck and face always belonged to the same person 😉
– Loved the smell
– Incredible coverage
– Looks like a second skin for about 5 hours
Negatives:
– Sinks into any and every wrinkle. Setting powder does not help; in fact it makes it worse. I would recommend for people with very plump skin. Keep in mind I’m only 21 but I get crows feet & big lines when I smile.
– Cracks & separates very badly in cold weather (-20C). Welcome to Canada. I really do not recommend wearing this outdoors in cold weather.
-if you have oily, tight skin it will literally slide off your face. If you have normal skin it’s still very transferable. The issue with it is it doesn’t seem to ever fully dry. Not very good lasting power.
– I never looked good in pictures when I wore this stuff. It tended to whitewash me – possibly from the very cool undertones it has, which would just be my own issue.

I bought the lightest shade B10 and it’s too dark and too pink undertone for my skin, should’ve tried BD10. But I don’t like the formula either, it emphasizes dry patches a lot and starts to look cakey wherever I get oily. I’ll try to use up the bottle if I find a foundation I can mix it with to make it look decent on my skin but won’t repurchase.

I have broken capillaries from Lyme disease treatment and can’t get IPL until it’s gone (pray for me!) and needed something medium/full/fuller coverage that didn’t look caked on my combo/oily T zone face.
I am 43 with the red face mentioned above (it almost looks like I just got done skiing and took off my goggles but much less enjoyable) and found this foundation in B20 over my HG Veil Mineral Primer to last a good 6/7 hours without a blot and then if I do blot/repowder I am good for another 4 (I haven’t stayed up longer to find out. Lyme sucks.) But at least I look pretty when I want to!!
I would say this isn’t for a dry skin. I had a little patch of dryness by my eyebrow and WOW it looked bad. I rubbed it with lotion and started over!
But for combo/oily gals….LOVES!!!

This is an average foundation which for me is a disappointment and I struggle to understand why anyone would choose this over the well regarded ysl touche eclat. It has some good points – easy to apply and blend and a nice finish which is not too matte and has spf 20. The problem for me is that it is not especially long lasting. I have normal skin and use primer and setting spray and it starts to look untidy toward the end of the working day. Longevity is barely any better than touche eclat. There are other full coverage foundations such as EL DW which hold together much longer. Overall not a bad product and worth trying free sample but I am not sure why ysl felt the need to bring this to the market.

Let me first mention my main pros and cons for this foundation:
PROS:
– looks very natural on the skin
– buildable
– does not irritate my acne-prone skin
– can hide blemishes and redness even without concealer
– feels light on the skin
– does not set in the fine lines
– easy to be removed with a cleanser
– a little goes a long way
CONS:
– it is not long lasting especially in hot weather
– transfers onto clothes, actually onto everything that would touch the face even when set with powder
I would have really wished to give five lipsticks to this foundation but unfortunately I am not fully satisfied with it. The only way I could make it last longer and not transfer was by applying a fixing spray which however changed the overall matte look and the feel of my face. Maybe it would work better with another fixing spray but still I would have preferred if the setting powder were sufficient, after all it is quite a pricey product.

The first time that I wore this, it looked good. For my NC30 skin tone, the Almond shade was a good match. The product definitely oxidizes. I liked the texture and wear but unfortunately, it didn’t stay on my face. Right on the T zone, the foundation disappeared within 4 to 5 hours. I usually test the foundation quality by checking my skin condition after I clean my makeup. My skin looked and felt great. The quality is great but the promise of 24 hour wear is not accurate. Back to EL Doublewear!

this new ysl foundation is hardly a value (20% less product than a standard foundation bottle from ysl or pretty much any other brand) but it’s also my favorite foundation that i’ve ever tried.
my skin is a sheet of grease and i’ve never seen oil control like this. my forehead might still get a bit shiny by the end of the day but nothing like the oil slick i’ve always been accustomed to. i’m noticing some of the worst reviews here are from people with dry skin – this product isn’t for you lol
the packaging is nice enough but i don’t like that the bottle is opaque. feels luxe but isn’t practical in terms of seeing how much product is left.
i apply two pumps, one at a time, with my fingers, and then i even out with a beauty blender (i HATE beauty blenders but they’re a necessary evil).
any smudging onto clothes or elsewhere is no different than most foundations
coverage is ok but i also have a lot of scarring and remains of old blemishes. i do love the shade selection; i’m very fair but require a deeper tone to help with coverage.

Overpriced and overrated. It’s just an okay product. For a whopping $54, you get 0.84 oz/25 mL of product. It comes in a fancy glass bottle with a black pump and totally looks luxe. This does contain an SPF of 20 and comes in 33 shades. I picked up the shade BD35/Warm Caramel, which is described as a light/medium with a golden undertone. This foundation unfortunately has a light, floral scent that I dislike. The smell dissipates as you blend the foundation into your skin, but I am not a fan of anything floral-scented. I have an oily/combination skin type that tends to get oily in the t-zone and dry around the nose.
Coverage: Medium, but can be built to full coverage. I find it to look a bit cakey when it is built, and I use very little foundation when I do my make-up normally.
Lasting power: Claims to be 24 hours, but it rubs off throughout the day and lasts about ten hours max on me.
How it feels: My skin actually looks quite dry when I use this. I sometimes put an oil primer underneath and mix it with a moisturizing foundation to make it less drying. It also feels heavy for something that isn’t full coverage.
Overall, I do not recommend this for dryer skin types. Be careful if you have dry undereyes as well! I won’t be repurchasing because my drugstore foundations perform better than this one, and I’ve only ever loved the Estee Lauder Double Wear when it comes to high-end foundation. The formula for this All Hours foundation does not match the hefty pricetag. It looks okay on my skin and does what it’s supposed to, but I want it to look incredible.

Coverage is pretty nice, but you have to use small amount if you do not want to be looked cakey. The scent is nice. I don’t recommend it to dry skin. Although I have normal skin, I slightly felt it was a bit drying. If you are dry to normal skin and has this foundation, make sure to put rich moisturizer on before applying the foundation.

I love this foundation when I first apply it, it has a natural medium finish that sinks into your skin and looks so beautiful. Unfortunately this had hardly any lasting power and it would oxidize and look shiny after a few hours. I’m not even that oily, only my nose usually gets shiny and this was an all over effect. If you are sensitive to scents this has a cucumber fragrance to it

If you have texture, combination oily skin like I do and prefer something matte to semi matte, then I highly recommend this foundation. I am actually super happy I gave it a try because normally I dont like YSL foundations at all (they tend to be too sheer and oily).
PROS:
-matte but not drying at all, which is so surprising because long lasting foundations are always drying and makes my textury, flaky skin even worse, just like the description, it actually fills in the pores and sits gently on top of my dry patches…i think it has to do with how fine the pigments are and the creamy consistency…this is not the runny watery type, its comes out more like nail polish consistency
-long lasting!! omg i cannot stress how nice it is to look at yourself at the end of the day and not look like a freakin zombie with apocalyptic skin disease…slightly oily around my nose, but thats about it, doesnt make my skin look like its been marinating in oil AND i still dont see my dry patches thank you lord!
-breathable…a really comfortable feeling foundation, very light and weighless, which explains the CON below
CONS:
-light to medium coverage…honestly this is not full coverage AT ALL…expect 2 out of 5, or 3 out of 5 for coverage, typical YSL I’d say, this is like half the coverage of the likes of estee lauder double wear, lamcome teint idole, armani power fabric
-oxidizes…i know some people dont believe in this word…but it does…i am a fair east asian, I bought B20 which was a perfect match at first, but like 2 hours in, i found that its become darker and very dull looking..so I’d say go a little lighter, esp if you like looking pale and bright like i do lol

Although I gave this product 3 stars, I want to say that it was not matte on me. Usually I start to get oily about an hour after applying this. I’m not naturally suuuuper oily, so I don’t mind dabbing extra oil but those looking to correct excessive oiliness might try a sample of this first.
So even though this isn’t totally matte, I really like the finish and the coverage. It adds a natural-looking dewiness to my skin that I’ve never actually gotten from another foundation before. Now that I’m closing in on 30, I can appreciate the youthful glow this adds! This foundation also has really terrific coverage. I find that I don’t have to touch much if anything up with concealer.
Overall I really like this foundation. It’s definitely not matte for me but I was pleasantly surprised but the finished product anyhow.
