Oh.. my dear Etude House. Every time I step into the cotton candy world that is full of pink, pretty, girly goodness, it’s the packaging that does me in. Unfortunately, there is only so much all that fluff can do for your fluttering heart and nothing at all for your face. Like most of its other products, these pencils are introduced with excellent marketing, but even Pony cannot convince me to repurchase.
Sure, these are slim and eye catching and retractable and portable. They can even be used everywhere – eyes, lips, cheeks!
No.
Do not go there. The first time I swatched them the pigmentation was decent. I was more attracted by the sheer range of colors and grabbed a whole bunch of varying finishes and colors while imagining all the possibilities… alas, when actually applied on the eyes, these are incredibly hard to blend with a hard and pasty texture. The shimmer ones are decent for highlighting and do glide on normally, but all of them have weak lasting power and crease easily.
I tried applying a matte pink shade on my lips for the first time and I immediately got a sore after 2 hours. It was so dry and showed up in such thick patches on my lips only my Chanel lipgloss could save it. I regret this decision and don’t even dare to try it on my cheeks … I don’t know what I will do with all my pencils.. it seems like only the shimmer white is worth keeping.
Try the CLIO gelpresso liners instead, they are much better quality and therefore bang for your buck. Why spend money on low utility packaging? Every cent should go towards performance of your product instead!
