This stuff is the only thing I will use to apply loose glitter to my eyes. It has a gel like consistency that becomes more liquid with application which allows you to get up to the very edges for a precise wing (for reference, I prefer to use a bent liner brush over angled). And trust me when I say it holds like cement because I found that out the hard way when trying to correct my mistakes. I’ve attached a photo above (please excuse the oily lid) taken after several hours of wear, and as you can see the wing held its shape pretty well with very few stray glitter particles. It can be difficult to remove with your run of the mill oil based makeup removers, but I have no trouble getting it off with Albolene.
But the fun doesn’t stop there: you can use it for its originally intended purpose of mixing with pigments/loose eyeshadows to create your own shade of eyeliner. I love that it comes in a little squeeze tube instead of with a wand applicator or in a screw top bottle because you can control the amount of product that comes out and it doesn’t dry out with repeated exposure. One tiny tube will last you forever. Love it. Will continue to repurchase.

Ok so holy grail find!! On a whim after seeing a couple of reviews I tried the MAC eyeliner mixing medium to attempt to keep my eyeshadow from creasing. I have very very very oily lids and have suffered with creasing for years. I have hooded/downward eyes. I have tried everything, UD, TooFace, Dior, Tarte, MAC paint pots, the straight MAC paint in the little metal tube, and many more I cannot remember. I have tried using toner, face primer, face primer and foundation, mattifying gel/cream, spraying with a setting spray, etc. and nothing. After 15 years I had given up and accepted the 1-2 good hours I could get without creasing, but then I see this product and I figured $14 whatever, right? Holy …. it worked!! I wish I could load the photo but I went 11.5hrs and NO CREASING! I’ve never had anything work even for more than 3 hours much less 11!.
Application: I just did my eyes as normal (MAC paint thinly to prime, normal eyeshadow application, gel eyeliner) and pat on a very thin layer (like pencil point amount) on each lid with a 239, let it dry. It did take a few seconds but I did not experience any pain, burning or discomfort that other reviewers did. I have uber sensitive, acne prone, rosacea tortured skin but boom (envision mic drop)!!! Not one millimeter of movement into those creases all day.
This is a must have and I will never be without it again. I think more people would figure this out if it was sold in store. Just WOW!

mixed reviews on this (ha). I want to love it because the concept sounds great. but using this with MAC glitters is pretty awful. the glitter chunks together and when it dries it dries in patches and falls off! so strange. I dont love this product. going to try Inglot Duraline now. as others said, “blending” with this is pretty non existant. its a pain in the ass to work with

I bought this in order to achieve a more precise line when applying eyeshadow wet as liner. I load my angled brush with eyeshadow or pigment and then dip it into a drop of the mixing medium on the back of my hand which is supereasy. To me there is no noticeable difference to water as regards color intensity or precision. There is however a huge difference in terms of staying power. And what is the most convincing quality of that product is that there is absolutely no fall out anymore. When lining the eye using dark powder shadow with water, tiny crumbs in the undereye area are otherwise almost unavoidable and even when diligently brushed away there always remains a minimal but nevertheless extremely unflattering darkness there. Not so when using the mixing medium which I find great. The medium takes some time for drying and during those minutes I notice a kind of burning, tightening sensation which, however, is soon gone. The tube is very small but as a drop of product really is enough for doing your two eyes it promises to last forever.

I purchased this on the recommendation of a MAC SA when I was getting some loose glitters. This is medium thickness gel, packaged in a squeeze tube with screw on cap. The product is very slightly milky, but dries clear. I really like this for making glitter stick to your lids, however, it is difficult to blend anything once you’ve applied the mixing medium. It also works well to create cream shadows or liners from loose pigments. Wear is about 6-8 hours, depending on how much product you use and your lids/primer.

Luckily I live near a PRO store, so when I was buying some reflects glitter, the MUA recommended this one for applying glitter. Although you can use it over your entire eye, I prefer using this as eyeliner. It makes any pigment or glitter the most amazing shade of eyeliner. I used to to line Reflects Antique Gold on my top and bottom lashes. It look SO good and natural, and I didn’t have any glitter on my cheeks (and this was after wearing it to a club for probably 8 hours in total). Amazing product, and I will definitely repurchase.

I had high hopes for this product. I tried it with a black eyeshadow today and about 4 hours later it was rubbed off half of my eye and smudged all over the place. i used this a couple times with jewelmarine glitter and it actually worked pretty welll.

This is a very cool product. I love the fact that I can transform my pigments into liners, making them much more useful! Plus it looks vibrant and super nice and last a record time!!
Tips : don’t use the same instrument to mix and to line, as the color will not be as even on your skin as it should be!

This stuff is brilliant. As people have said below, if you have pigments – or any heavily pigmented eyeshadow, really – you can make liners out of them. It’s also perfectly suitable for use over the whole lid or for sticking glitter on. It makes it much easier to build intense colour with the pigments, so you get it looking as good as they do in the pot, and making them into a paste makes the application much less messy. Even if you don’t use the pigments, anyone in the habit of using a dark e/s and a flat angle brush for liner should get this – it just glides on with no drag and no crumbs of product on your cheeks. I honestly don’t know how I managed without it!

I had to order this product from the Pro-Store.
I heard you can just use water, vaseline or eye solutions as a mixing medium but since I have quite watery eyes (contact wearer) I decided to fork out the extra bit of money esp considering the costs u pay for pigments and the good reviews here 🙂
Today is the first day I have used it. I used pigment in violet underneath my black eyeliner. It has lasted 8 hrs so far with only a very slight smudge (but sorta gives it a smoky look!) I did (carefully) put a bit of UD primer on the bottom of it all though.
I squirted the tinniest bit on an old contact lense lid and mixed pigment in it. I’m not really sure how much pigment to add… but I suppose less is a safer option. I then used an angle brush and applied it to my eye. I did not feel that I added enough pigment so I just dipped my brush in the pigment and lined again. PERFECT! I suppose from experience I would learn how much ratio of medium to pigment I would need to achieve the intensity that I like. I still had medium left overs…
Truthfully thats the beauty of it all a product that can turn any of MAC’s pigment colour into an eyeliner in which you can CONTROL:
1. The type of colour (whole range of pigments);
2. Intensity of the colour (start with less); and
3. Thickness of the line
I have not tried the product with other eyeshadows or powders. I have not tried it as an eyeshadow either but I’m sure it would have amazing staying power (yet expensive as u can use other products to achieve this as your upper lid will not be as prone to watery smudgness). Again, I cannot compare it with other products but even with such a tube and the amount of usage, I doubt I’ll ever have to buy it again…
Will possibly update…
