Oof. I’ve put off reviewing this for months because I hoped I was wrong, but now I know for sure that this liner has been the thing seriously irritating my eyes.
For a while, I thought it was my mascara, or new eye shadow that was irritating my eyes, but after taking a break from this for a few weeks, then using it again (with makeup I’ve worn without irritation), I can say that it is definitely this liner causing the problems. I wore this last 2 or 3 days ago, and my eyes still hurt and feel very dry and like there’s something stuck in them. I think something about Milani eye products just doesn’t work for me because I think this is the third or fourth product I’ve tried that has irritated my eyes (I know I’ve used a liquid liner and the eye primer, and I think I tried a mascara but I’m not sure).
Maybe I got a dud, but I feel like this one drags a lot while applying (it feels almost sticky), the blackest black comes off looking more grey, and it smudges and runs very easily. When I wear it on my top lash line, it ends up all over my lid and in my crease, but it also seems more difficult to remove than a lot of other liners I’ve used. I’m not a fan of how thick the liner itself is, either, but I’m not super picky about that (if I want a very thin line, I’ll go for a black shadow on a liner brush, or use a liquid liner), so I’m not knocking lippies for it.
I heard a lot of great things about this liner, so maybe I really did just get a bad one, but I won’t be purchasing another to test it again.

This is the best eyeliner…I haven’t been able to find this exact eyeliner lately has it been discontinued?

I’m pretty confident that this is it: my go-to, one-and-only for “black eyeliner”, for the rest of my days. Here’s what I like:
– first, it had good reviews, which I rely on heavily
– it’s auto/self-sharpening, which is a must for me
– it’s a drugstore brand, and generally this product looks like it’s $10 or less
– it applies easily and “creamily”, with instant dark color payoff. I swipe twice on my lower lashline, and I’m done
– it fades a little by the end of the day, but still, I’d say the longevity is pretty great
– I’m prone to itchy/teary eyes (and I rub them frequently), and I think the eyeliner handles those challenges well enough …
I found this eyeliner through my now-usual technique of cross-referencing MUA and Amazon reviews. The price was right on Amazon (purchased for $5.97 in 6/2017), so I crossed my fingers and ordered it. I had been looking for a replacement for my L’Oreal eyeliner (the black was kind of faint) and my Ulta-branded eyeliner (so faint that it didn’t seem worthy of being called black). A product that calls itself “supreme” and “blackest black” – I would say that is true!
Also, I was a bit nervous about trying a Milani eyeliner, because I did not have a good experience with the Milani “Shadow Eyez” pencils. Those too had instant, beautiful color payoff, BUT my eyes inevitably stung within an hour or so of application- that to me indicates that the product had migrated into my eyes (or, more likely, onto my hands and from there to my eyes). But, bottom line, no one can wear a product that irritates her eyes … so I was very (VERY) happy to find I had no adverse reaction to this kohl-kajal. I am definitely a fan. Whew, what a relief- I can cross off “find a go-to black eyeliner” on my to-do list.

This is a legitimately dope product for anyone needing a luscious, affordable, inky black eyeliner for their waterline *and beyond*
Great pigmentation. Good staying power. Does not clump. Prefer this formulation over Prestige, Urban Decay, and Make Up For Ever.
My eyeballs love to pluck pigment from any/all waterline eyeliner and migrate it into the inner corners of my eyes, but this is MY cross to bear, and should not result in the loss of a lippie. Easily rectified with a couple Q-tips dampened with Bioderma Crealine.
Milani products are very high quality for the price point. Do your research on MUA prior to purchase, but by all means, purchase!

Bought this to be worn on my waterline but I haven’t tried that yet (haha) so I’ve been using it to compare it to my Physician’s Formula Shimmer Strips Eyeliner in black. In comparison, this eyeliner is extremely black with just 1 swipe & it does seem to be very waterproof because it’s held up in pouring and sprinkling rain! The packaging is so sleek & shiny but too bad it doesn’t come with a sharpener. This eyeliner also smudges a bit less than PF. Will repurchase over PF!
UPDATE May 14, 2017: Doesn’t last more than 1 hour on my waterlines. It lasts on my lid as typical eyeliner but will smudge all over my eye bag area.

Excellent!! New favorite eyeliner. Has great inky dark black color, applies easily, and smudges nicely for a smokey eye. Inexpensive and doesn’t need sharpening. The perfect eyeliner!

I hated how my Marc Jacobs Highliner Gel in Blacquer dried out quickly and got crumbly in my eye after a few months but it was the best eyeliner for tightlining and applying to the lower lash area I found so far. For that price, you’d expect the longevity of the actual product to be better.
The Milani eyeliner is a bit creamier and way blacker than the MJ Eyeliner. When applied, the Milani one stays in the waterline and lower lash area longer. The Milani eyeliner does not give you racoon eyes by the end of the night which is the #1 thing I look for in an eyeliner because I use black eyeliner in my outer lower lash line area almost every day and need it to last 9+ hours without touch ups. I don’t have to touch up this eyeliner. Also, I have sensitive eyes that tend to water from a lot of eye products and had no issues with the Milani one (the UD perversion eyeliner made me tear like a mofo and so did the Bobbi Brown Gel eyeliner).
I’m very, very pleased with this purchase!!! It’s a third of the price of the MJ eyeliner and performs even better. I’m so glad I stumbled upon this eyeliner on makeupalley! I highly recommend trying it out. I paid about $7 for it at CVS.

Let me start by saying, I HAVE NEVER WRITTEN A REVIEW BEFORE. I swear by reviews but i never bother writing them. I initially purchased this eyeliner for my mom who suffers from super oily eyes and always ends up looking like a racoon by the end of the night. I had no hope for this because she has tried all high-end brands you can imagine. Let me just say, MY mom was in love! She would wear this at 9 am and it wouldn’t have moved until 9 pm. I know some people don’t have this problem so most eye liners work for them but if you are someone with oily lids or under eyes, this thing WONT budge. I went ahead and bought myself one too because i like my eyeliner super dark, and i THOUGHT i really liked the urban decay alnighter eye pencil but that thing is nothing as compared to this. Most eyeliners have to be applied a couple times before it properly shows on the undereyes… but not this one. One swipe is good enough. I love that i don’t have to worry about sharpening it either. Did i mention how dark it is? Trust me. You need this in your life.

This is the best, blackest eyeliner I’ve ever used in my waterline. It lasts for several hours and it only takes one swipe for good pigmentation. I wish they’d come out with other colours because I can’t find a good company that makes multicoloured eyeliners that actually show up in my waterline ! A+ for this product !

OK, so let me start off by saying I am a contact lens wearer. For those who don’t know, it is impossible to find a good, deep black, long lasting eyeliner, as they usually got stuck to your contact and/or flake off and end up in eyes, which WILL get stuck to your contacts either way!
Review:
I ABSOLUTELY adore & love this eyeliner ! This is the ONLY eyeliner that doe NOT get stuck to my contacts. At all! I have tried urban decay, Jordana, stila, MAC, LA Girl, wet n wild, you name it I have tried it. I love a good deep lined eye and always on the lookout for the best eyeliners. It doesn’t even run into my watery eyes or flake off! I adore the formula. It is deep black! It is smooth! It is rich and so creamy! Yet… It’s LONG lasting! When it’s 90 degrees out I will see a few smudges under my eyes but nothing serious. I have already bought 4 of these. Did I mention how cute and upscale the package is too! Freaking love it!!! Cannot beat the price for such an amazing product.
