This is very black and smooth
only problem is it doesnt really last the entire night and if it does, most likely it will smudge where your low lashes are….
i would recommend a gel eyeliner for the lower lash line and you get a similar result

My all time favourite eye liner. It goes on smooth and I personally use it to make top wings on my lids with a small angled brush and a few strokes. I must warn though that it goes on heavily so a little goes a long way. Avoid your tear ducts with this liner as well as it can run easily and create tear duct gunk when not applied right.

Looks as if this is discontinued. Just bought 3 on Amazon. The only eyeliner color and type i lovefor waterline. Please Stila bring it back.

Product – Matte battleship grey, not as dark as charcoal grey on me (AAB/NC25). Creamy, soft, smooth texture, easy to work with. Excellent pigmentation and staying power – and I have watery eyes and oily lids. If you want to smudge this, do so quickly before the color sets.
Packaging – Silver skinny pencil with silver plastic cap, and the butt end colored to represent the shade. Personally I don’t like pencils because I dislike product loss due to sharpening … plus I’m lazy 🙂
Overall – Nice product… if only I didn’t mind sharpening pencils.

I really like this eyeliner for my waterline it doesn’t smudge even though it’s so creamy! Very easy to apply and it lasts! So overal it’s a good buy I would definately repurchase!:)

I think this eyeliner is a great, slightly less intense alternative to black liner. I’ve used it on my top lashline a couple times so far and it doesn’t smudge on me, but gives a soft but defined look. My favorite place to apply it, though, is on my bottom waterline/lashline. I didn’t have very high expectations when I applied it there because even my Make Up For Ever Kohl Pencil fades within a couple hours, but when I looked in the mirror about 4-5 hours later, I was shocked to see that it was still 100% there! I’m surprised to see so many negative reviews because I love it and if I were ever to run out, I’d definitely buy it again.

This is my go to everyday eyeliner. It’s a deep gray that gives a softer look than straight up black. I don’t like how it smudges and runs, but I find when I set it with powder, it’s better. I think it’s worth a shot if you are willing to try it out.

I like the color, because it is not a super-dramatic dark black, yet is still impactful. But I have the same complaint on this one as the Tiger’s Eye — it’s too soft and doesn’t stay sharp for long, and a ton of product is wasted upon sharpening. Also — this one smudges pretty horribly. Some smudge is okay — it can look smoky. But whenever I wear this one, by mid-day i’m wiping it off my undereye area — which is NOT where I applied it.

Stila Kajal Eye Liner is the only eye liner I use. Ever. Smokey Quartz is my go-to color – even though I have dark features, I feel like black is a little too harsh most of the time and SQ is just the right shade.
Why didn’t I give it a 5?
*It is really soft and so the tip tends to break off easily, requiring a lot of sharpening.
*It can get smudgey, which sometimes is a great effect, but sometimes…not so much. I’ve learned to just use a lighter touch and not apply so much and it doesn’t smudge/run

What a beautiful color to match with blue eyes. I usually avoid anything blue-based because that tends to de-emphasize the blue in my eyes, but for some reason, this just made my eyes brighter and bluer. So major points for the color. Unfortunately, I have to agree 100% with the other posters about the smudginess. Within one hour of application, this stuff shows up above my eyes, below my eyes… it’s grim, and makes this totally unwearable for me. Good news: you can get a very close color match with Bobbi Brown’s Gel Eyeliner in Granite Ink, and that stuff stays put forever.
