Described as long wearing (16 hrs), gel, glossy, and waterproof. Also ophthalmologist tested. I truly believe the first 4 claims. I bought the mocha (rich deep brown) and steel (dark grey) It is in a pencil form, and is soft and creamy, goes on dark and smooth, like a liquid or pen liner. If you are really, really fast, you might be able to smoke it out – but I doubt it. It sets extremely quickly. It has a somewhat shiny finish…guess that is where the “vinyl” in the name comes in….and putting powder over it is not very attractive. The powder just doesn’t stick to it.
It stays put, that’s for sure. However, I bought this thinking it would be good for waterlining. It’s not. Usually waterlining, even if I just do the top and stay as close as possible to the lashline, makes my eyes, especially the left one, tear like crazy for the first half hour or so after applying. I love the look, so I tolerate it. About an hour after applying this eyeliner, my eyes suddenly felt extremely dry and uncomfortable. Like I desperately needed moisturizing eyedrops. I hadn’t used anything else new that day, so it had to be this eyeliner. I had lined the top waterline, and just above the lashline. Some of it did transfer to my lower waterline. The horrible dry feeling lasted for the entire time I wore it, about 3 hours, and it was so obvious that it was all I could think about. I could not wait to get home, wash it off, and put in some eyedrops. It took about 3 applications of my usual cleansing oil to remove it all.
My search for the perfect waterliner from the drugstore continues. I think this could work for people who like a dark, obvious line, don’t mind the glossy look of the liner, and most importantly, avoid getting it inside the eye. I won’t be purchasing this one again.
