I have high hopes for this. Unfortunately this smudged a lot on me. I love the colour and the softness though.

I love this pencil, and will definitely buy it again when it runs out. I love the color Barbarella Brown. Tilbury really nailed this mod sixties shade of brown. I have fair skin, so on me it’s better than black – I get great definition, good smoke, but it’s softer with light coloring and blue eyes. And this brown doesn’t have an orange undertone either. It’s a great deep dark brown.
It’s also SOFT. Much creamier than my other eye pencils. I had really given up on the old wooden kind until recently because some of them are hard and scratchy. Rock N Kohl glides on like butter and deposits rich deep color easily without tugging. It also sets well for a traditional pencil. It’s similar to Urban Decay 24/7 pencils, but I like this better than any of my UD pencils. Because I’m doing a smoky eye with this, I don’t mind if the line is a bit soft. It’s not sooty or dirty looking, and it doesn’t smear but it is smudge-able. Sometimes I use a push liner brush to smudge the line a bit along the lower lashes and then I use my concealer to touch up under the eyes. As long as I don’t rub my eyes a lot, it stays for hours. I still prefer a liquid liner for the top lashline but this is great for the waterline and lower lashline. The color does not fade during the day. I recommend this more for a smoky eye than for a neat and tidy thin line. This is perfect for that Rock Chick look, but might be a bit too smudgy for a corporate look. I have to touch up my under-eye concealer midday.
My eyes are sensitive. I get hay fever. I wear contact lenses. I use eye drops occasionally. I’ve been wearing Tilbury’s Full Fat Lashes Mascara and this eyeliner, and then a waterproof liquid liner on the top lashline from another brand. I haven’t had any itching or watering or redness.
I have mixed feelings about pencils that have to be sharpened. When I’m traveling, I’d rather have a retractable gel pencil so I don’t have to remember a sharpener or deal with shavings. However, even when auto pencils in plastic casings come with sharpeners, the auto pencils never seem to get a sharp point. I’ve been using Barbarella Brown in the waterline and so I need to keep the pencil really clean to avoid irritation, and a sharp point makes application easier and neater. I feel traditional sharpening gives you a fresher point each time with less risk of infection. So for the waterline, this works really well. To my great delight, Barbarella Brown even stays where I draw the top lashline and doesn’t transfer in a mirror image to my upper eyelid. However, I prefer the look of gel liner or liquid liner on the upper lashline.
I wish these pencils didn’t cost so much. $27 is a lot to pay for one pencil. Urban Decay is expensive, too, yet the 24/7 pencil is $7 less than this. My Clinique Pretty Easy liquid liner pen is 19.50 and I love it.
However, out of all the wooden kohl eye pencils out there, Charlotte Tilbury’s Rock N Kohl and Urban Decay’s 24/7 pencils are the only ones I like enough to buy. Barbarella Brown is my favorite rich deep brown in a formula that lasts. Because I’m only using it along the waterline and bottom lashline, the pencil is lasting well even though I frequently sharpen.

I cry a little every time I need to sharpen this pencil.
Great color, applies like a dream, stays in place. I have never liked eyeliner pencils until I tried this one. Will repurchase when I run out, which sadly will be soon.
