I’m always so seduced by green beauty products. I wanted to support this little company from Taos and their mission, but this particular product leaves me cold. The Mesmerize Eyeliner in Truffle is a lovely rich brown–it looks great going on. However, the cap pops off more often than not in my bag, and the tip smushes itself into a pulp so that I have to sharpen and resharpen. Worst of all, it migrates and smudges like gangbusters, and I always end up looking like Alice Cooper by noon. I’ll try and set it with powder liner to use up what I have, but I’m not repurchasing. At $28 Canadian, this was an expensive mistake.

I really like this eyeliner. I find that it applies smoothly. I like the smudge tool on the end. It is a bit small in size but I have had mine for 6 months and am only now going to replace it. I wear it probably 5 times per week.

This eyeliner was hard to get out of the cap to start. It was not the softest crayon to apply to the eyes. Then it pulled a disappearing act in the middle of the day. The color was a beautiful aubergine, but I could not enjoy it because I had to worry about application. Not a fan.

I know this is pricey for it’s size. I’ve bought two so far – it’s a soft black – goes on beautifully for me. I love it to pieces. I’ve never had a pencil like it. That’s why I go back for more!
Edited 1/ 6/13: They changed the formulation and the color is different and doesn’t last as long. knocked two lippies off. Won’t buy again.

I am disappointed how small this pencil is. Half the size of a “regular” pencil size. Should have noticed this when I ordered on line (it is.028 oz). I’m afraid I’ll sharpen this 2x and it will be a stub :(. My fault for not noticing it before I ordered. The color is more of a soft black and looks good using the smudge tool on the end. Wear time is average for a pencil. Will not repurchase even though it is organic.

Now just to clarify, I’m not much of an “eyeliner girl” before this product i hardly used it and when I did it was with a black eyeshadow. Throwing that out there, I haven’t tried many. I hadnt had much luck with eyeliners; either they gave an unnatural, harsh line or by the middle of the day I would have raccoon eyes. But, this one has proven it’s self worthy of an HG for me. The pigment is great and the product goes on smooth, not too hard nor soft. The smudging tool is absolutely perfect and works like a dream. I will buy again.

I was really expecting a LOT more from this eyeliner, especially after reading such an “elegant” description of it on Vapour’s website!
I tried to line my eyes with it, and I literally had to dig this into my eyelid to make any color show up– it was not creamy/smooth at all!!! After scraping this along my eyelid several times, the area was all red and inflamed. 🙁 I have tried natural eye liners that are a lot better than this (Lavera eyeliner & Tarte EmphasEYES Aqua-Gel Eyeliner). For those of you that wear cream eye shadow, it may apply a bit better (I was wearing powder).
The packaging was nice, and the ingredients natural, but I won’t be repurchasing again.
