To date, the shade Black Chocolate is Limited Edition. I purchased this eyeliner as part of the Dark Chocolate Set from BB’s fall/winter ’15 collection. It was launched in September 2015 – the set also contains a Longwear Eyeshadow Stick in Truffle and an Extreme Party Mascara in Black Chocolate. I was very pleasantly surprised by this eyeliner:
– Applies beautifully, smooth and without tugging or skipping at the lid
– Shade is a beautiful dark neutral chocolate, definition without the harshness of black
– Lasting power was all day with only minor flaking and almost no fading or transfer.
This is a completely different experience compared to the other colors in that Long Wear Eye Pencil line that I tried: Smoke, Mahogany, Black Plum and Black Navy were all great colors but all went on waxy, they flaked even upon application, and they didn’t last. Basically this was a major fail, and a costly one at that price point since these pencils retail for $25 separately. Plus the Navy one was the worst because the “lead” (the color insert inside the wooden pencil) kept falling out and eventually broke, just ridiculous. So I swore to myself that I would stay far away from these pencils. Therefore I was buying the Dark Chocolate Set for the eyeshadow stick and I’m thrilled that the eyeliner is so good. I’m unsure if the company has improved the quality of all shades in the range of Longwear Eye Pencils, but if this color were separately I would definitely consider repurchasing.

I received this in a kit from QVC and I am very happy with the way this applies and wears.
The pigmentation of this liner is fantastic, and this just glides on without tugging at my eyelids. It reminds me of Mally Starlight pencil liners (HG for me) for its creaminess and strong pigmentation. This lasts all day with no fading or flaking, even in the high heat and humidity of Florida.
The only downside to these long-wearing pencils is the color range, which is why I prefer the pencils by Mally. Bobbi Brown is known for classic, basic looks but I sometimes like brightly colored liner!
I would buy this color again though, it is less harsh than pure black liner and works well with my pale skin color (NC15). It does not have much red pigment to it (which I find with a lot of brown liners) but instead is a neutral dark brown.
However, I think maybe this was limited edition/store-exclusive color as I cannot find it on the Bobbi Brown website, nor on QVC but I can find it on the websites for Barneys and Neiman Marcus.
