The pros are that the color payoff is beautiful and the liner is super long lasting and very smooth to apply. But the one major let down is the pen/brush itself.
You’re supposed to twist the end of the pen 1-2 times to dispense the product, but it just gets backed up in the pen then comes out in a huge blob after about 5 twists. This makes application really difficult and wastes a ton of product. The product also only comes out on one side of the liner’s brush instead of onto the tip. I find myself having to wipe off the product onto the back of my hand and reapplying it with a separate liner brush. You only really get to use 1/3 of the product you pay for.
The liner in itself is amazing but the pen/brush design is awful. I wouldn’t repurchase this unless the pen was changed to something that actually worked.

I received a Poe liner in my KVD Interstellar bundle and have been disappointed in the product’s quality, both formula and packaging. I would not purchase the liner again.
The liquid liner applies thin and necessitates at least two coats. However, after applying more than one coat the layers become too thick and therefore tacky. The color, on the other hand, is a lovely dark purple with a tasteful amount of sheen/shimmer.
The packing really stinks. As many reviewers have mentioned, the product comes out all at once after a few futile clicks. Also, the liquid globs up on one side of the tip making it impossible to use the liner as is (I apply the glob to the back of my hand and grab the product from there). A lot of product is wasted this way.
Using this product is a pain and not worth the original $20.

This is my first liner from Kat Von D and I have it in Poe and I really like it. First of all it was super easy to use. The formula is very pigmented well at least Poe is and drawing a wing is easy with this product. I love the colour it’s a purple with violet sparkles but they aren’t over done nor does it come off too metallic. I don’t at my age want a truley super metallic liner on my eyes. I’m in my 30’s now and I still love my colours and this fits the bill well. Without that metallic sheen which can not look cute on me at my age.
I received this with the Innerstellar palette and it works well with the shades that come in that. But really this is a good purple for green eyes I think. It’s not super shimmery and it dries matte if that makes sense. This liner lasted even through my eye tearing and through eye drops. So I’m really happy with this liquid liner. I would get more shades because I love how easy it is to draw a wing and I rarely draw them. When I do though I want it to be quick and easy. It is with this liner and it dries very fast. But not so fast where I couldn’t fix a mistake if need be. Great liner, it even lasts through these humid summers I have where I am. Recommended.

Updated review; the actual product formula is great, they do feel a bit tingly on my lids initially but it goes away and I’m lining this over my usual black eyeliner because my skin tone makes purple look brown.
If you can get any product out at all. I think I paid $36 for this at Sephora (AUS) and for that price, everything needs to be fairly decent – I’m waiting 10 minute for the actual liquid to come out of the brush tip, which it doesn’t until 3 clicks and then it comes out as a massive blob on the side of the brush rather than a uniform amount dispensed across the brush. The actual brush is quite fat and doesn’t give you a precise wing.
Also putting it together initially is quite gimmickey, but I’m guessing that’s what stops it from drying out on the shelf ?
Would not buy again, ain’t nobody got time for this.

Overall, this is a fantastic liner. I have extremely oily eyelids, nothing stays put, but these do. I started out with just one color (Poe), but went back to purchase Fyfe, Hex and Juno.
Positives: Beautiful colors, difficult to find similar colors in other product lines. They have glitter but not too much even for someone like me looking at my youth in the rear view mirror, and they also layer beautifully over a black liner, such as the Tattoo liner or my personal favorite, the Kat Von D Ink liner. They last all day and with primer will stay looking freshly applied until you take it off with any type of makeup remover.
Cons: They are a bit pricey, but that’s a small con. The biggest con is the hassle of having to put them together. I thought my first one was broken, but it turned out I was just doing it wrong. You need to take out a little plastic piece, then with the top part still inside the cap, put the cap on, turn the whole pen upside down and lean on a sturdy desk (or wall) and shove it together until it clicks solidly into place. Now you are ready to take off the cap and twist up some product to begin using your new liner.
The cons are not enough to make me not purchase more, but lets just say that if something easier comes along in the same fantastic colors and wear time, I may ditch these. However, now that I finally figured out how to do it, maybe I don’t mind so much. If you bought one and thought it was broken, take a close look and make sure it’s solidly intact. Like me, maybe you just didn’t click it together hard enough the first time.
That being said, the liner itself is outstanding. The colors are fabulous, and the fact that it lasts all day really impresses me. I have spent much more $$ on liners that lasted for far less time. Also, I have had Poe for a few months now and there is still plenty of product left (so far as I can tell) and it has not dried out at all. The brush has held up well and still applies as neatly as it did when I used it for the first time. And now it doesn’t fall apart in my bag anymore! The good thing about when it did fall apart, though, is that it didn’t spill out all over, so in that respect, the design was done well. No product wasted due to user error.
The biggest annoyance truly is the mechanics of putting it together. The directions did not spell it out clearly for me, but I’m that girl who never reads the manual for my computer, my cell phone, my car, or even my microwave. I have to figure it out for myself. I don’t own a hammer – I use the handle of my screwdriver if something needs hammering. Yes, I’m that girl. So if you’re like me, just grab the pen like it’s a knife that you want to stab into a cutting board (with or without a picture of your ex on there). If you hit it that hard on the table top, you’ll click the pen into place.
Happy lining!

This is a general review of the Lightning eyeliners in general. I have 2 colors – Fyfe, which is described as metallic khaki with gold shimmer (which is inaccurate – it’s really a lovely moss green with I think gold shimmer) and Hyde a metallic brown with bronze shimmer. Oddly, Fyfe is not listed on sephora at the moment, but that’s where I got it! Anyway, these are click-pen type liners – like the Stila glosses used to be packaged? There’s a learning curve to these things, so I thought I would share it and hope it helps someone. When you get the item, there’s a small plastic band with a loop on it that you pull off, then *shove* (and I mean SHOVE) the top onto the bottom barrel part of the contraption. Now you turn the base part to click the product into the pen – and here is where these radically diverge from the Stila glosses. You only need to click it 3 or 4 times to get the product into the brush!!! Have a bit of patience b/c it takes several seconds for it to ooze on down to the bristles, but don’t keep clicking and twisting away – you’ll have a mess! Just click 3 or 4 times and wait a bit – it’ll get there. The same is true for when you use it – just click once or twice then wait a bit – the stuff is slow to dispense, but it will get there. I got impatient the first couple times and ultimately had way more than I needed. So just a couple of clicks, and have patience, grasshopper.
The liner itself is very nice, I think. It’s wet (duh) but seems to dry in just a minute or two, and on me, it stays *put* once it’s dry. The shimmer in the 2 shades I have is noticable but not garish – something an old dame like me has to worry about! They wear every bit of 8 hours, but remove nicely with TTDO. I find no flaking or fading either.
All in all, they’re very nice – I do have concerns about them drying out eventually, even with a tight cap. Time will tell about that. I think it’s a rather gimmicky package, but a nice product; I can’t see any reason why it couldn’t have been put in a regular liquid liner bottle, with the brush in the cap, but I guess they were going for something new and radical. . They are rather pricey at $20 a crack but if they don’t dry out right away, I think these could become a staple in my herd of eyeliners.
Hope this is helpful.

I purchased this for my niece and found myself going back to the store to purchase one for myself. It’s a really beautiful bright pink color that’s appropriate for summer. The color goes on sheer initially, so 2 coats are definitely required. It will give you a decent manicure for about 4 days with minimal nail wear.
My nails tend to be brittle. The only polish brands that do not dry out my nails are Zoya, Chanel, and the Creme Julep formulas. Unfortunately, L.A. Colors does dry my nails out. I’ve counteract this dryness by soaking my nails in a warm oil mixture and massaging shea butter into my cuticles each day. I just thought I’d mention it to those who suffer from dry nails.
To get the manicure to last longer, I apply my Barielle Ultra Speed Dry Manicure Extender over two coats, THEN IMMEDIATELY apply my Colorstay Sealant (the clear one you put over the color….it works really good with regular polishes too). This method gives me about 7 days of good, minimal chipping wear. It dries to a nice hard finish…almost appearing like gel nails.

Just got done painting my nails. Love it! Very pretty very bright pink. And for $1?!? Can’t beat it!

Love this color! Especially fantastic in the summer w/a tan, it’s a bright neon beauty in the shrimp/salmon/coral family. The formula is smooth & easy to apply, plus the bottle is cute to boot. It’s definitely at least a 2-coater since it tends to go on sheer in spots like a jelly.
Got mine for just $2 or $3 @ my local beauty store last summer & am still loving it. Mani or pedi, it’s stunning.

I was not expecting much from this as it only cost me a dollar at the Dollar Store, but boy, this is the best quality nail polish that I’ve ever gotten for $1. The formula is very creamy and not streaky at all. One coat was enough to give a nice bright pink sheen to my nails. Two coats, and you get an opaque, electric hot pink. The formula is very fast drying, and the polish lasted for over a week without chipping after I put my SH diamond top coat on top. This is a great color that works well with fair skin or tanned skin. I am very impressed by this.

This is an AWESOME electric hot neon pink, one of the brightest I’ve ever seen. I thought the quality would suck because of how cheap this polish is but after 2 coats, the colour pay off was phenomenal. It takes about 3 minutes to fully dry and it doesn’t feel like I’m wearing anything on my nails at all. I can’t get over how bright this colour is!
