My mom and I have been buying this eyeliner for a while now. The black color is great. It lasts a long time and I have not experienced smudging and this is coming from a person with hooded eyes. (Thanks, genetics!) It’s not cheap but it lasts a while. I wish they kept the glass packaging because that’s how it was when we bought it long ago. (it’s been plastic for over 10 years now) I see people have been pressured to buy the eye liner brush but I just use it with an angled eye liner brush, it works just as well.

I have been using this product for about 5 years now and I love it! It has amazing staying power and does not flake! I use a brush from the merle norman store specifically for it and it is very precise. The color i use is black and it is VERY black! It glides on so smoothly and it will really last. I don’t have anything to compare it to because i’ve never strayed and I never will! Wonderful product!

I have been doing the whole winged cat eye looks for a couple of years, now. I was always a little frustrated because liquid eyeliner would start flaking off, and pencil eyeliner smudged. While, I am a Merle Norman beauty consultant, I keep my opinions unbiased and honest. I wouldn’t lie to my customers in order to sell a product, and I wouldn’t do that here. I really do think this is a top notch eyeliner.
It is VERY long wearing. It doesn’t flake (hallelujah!), and it won’t smudge or budge once it is set. It is waterproof, but is easily removed with eye makeup remover. My eyes sometimes water on the outside corner, so I’m pretty happy that it is waterproof.
If you make a mistake, it is an easy fix without making a mess and smearing it everywhere (I’m looking at you, liquid eyeliner). You can correct any mistakes with a dry cotton swab before the liner has dried.
I use the color Black and love how dark and pigmented it is. It is available in three other colors: Slate (dark charcoal), Coffee (this is a rich dark brown), and Brown (standard brown, this is the lightest shade of cream eyeliner). All shades are a matte finish.
I gave it 4/5 because it does not come with a brush. If you don’t already have one in your collection, you will need to purchase an eyeliner brush. While it isn’t that big of a deal, it is something to consider before you buy. The idea of having to purchase a brush may not thrill you, but the Merle Norman eyeliner brush is great quality, and works well with this product. I consider it a solid investment if you intend to continue using cream eyeliner.
Another thing to note, is that the application of cream eyeliner is a little different than pencil or liquid. I had small bit of trouble at first, but after a couple of times, I actually think it is easier to achieve the look I want. I have so much more control with a brush than I did with felt-tip liquid liners.
Cream eyeliners (and liquids, too) can have a tendency to dry out over time. I keep lid closed tightly when I am not using it. I’ve had mine for about three months and haven’t experienced any drying. You get a ton of product, so I foresee this lasting me quite some time.
ANYWAY, I highly recommend this eyeliner.

I started wearing this eyeliner when I was 16. I was working at MN at the time and I let them do my makeup. I am 22 now and this is still my HG eyeliner. At first it was difficult to apply but I got used to it very quickly! It last all day and I don’t have to touch it up. I hope they never discontinue it!! I will literally cry if they do! Oh and it one thing of it will last me a good year. It does dry over time but after a year I don’t mind replacing it. You’re supposed to replace you makeup every few months anyways!

First of all, I went to the actual store because it’s not easy to come by. When I saw the beautiful colors in the gorgeous pots, I was in awe, and bought four different colors on the spot. But my love affair was short-lived as all four pots dried up in weeks. I found them to be getting drier and drier as time went on, until it was just useless. I hardly even got to wear them! What a waste of money. I bought my Mac fluidline over a year ago and it’s still creamy. With these price tags, there is no excuse for such poor product. As a last resort, I tried to add water but it didn’t mix well and was a chunky mess. I also found them hard to remove at the end of the day, but to be fair I find this with a lot of gel/creme eyeliner brands.
I’ve also tried BB and I thought they got a little dry too, but I was hoping Merle Norman would work out because their colors are really gorgeous. I had bought the black, navy, green and the auburgine. The colors were so striking and intense but I was highly disappointed.

I do love this product, however it does dry it quickly! But when it’s not dried out, it works wonder for myself! 🙂

Great product stays on and will not run. Aubergine is an awesome color it brightens any eye color.

i bought the bronze. however, it is not a true bronze. it sort of looks plummy/bronze. it looks more bronze if u pair it with brown eyeshadows, it looks more plum if you pair it with purples. for that reason alone, i like the product. it does not specify being waterproof but i do have to use eye makeup remover when i wear this. so it is very long wearing. i do prefer creme/gel liners to pencils or liquid.

Works just like MAC Fluid lines or Bobbi Brown’s gel liners. I purchased Slate (dark gray) and Aubergine (eggplant). Both are terrific colors.

I tried Bobbi Brown’s gel eyeliner, and it smeared all over my admittedly very oily eyelids. I then tried MN’s eyeliner based on MUA reviews, and it is far superior. It has the ability to create a strong, dark line almost like a liquid eyeliner, but is much easier for me to control. It is also fairly long lasting, though even liquid liner sometimes melts on me. I’ve used it on friends and it has stayed put all night. The cost is a bit high at $22, but for me it was worth it since you get so much product. I’ve had mine for around two years, and never finished it (I’m throwing it out now because it has dried out…plus you probably shouldn’t keep eye makeup for that long anyway!).
