I have it in black. Worst staying power! If I swatch it on my hand, I can wipe it off completely, just with my bare finger, not even a trace will be left. On the lids it transfers and migrates everywhere. Maybe for someone with extremely dry skin, I don’t know….. On me it’s useless even on top of primer and when set with powder.
It’s very soft and smooth while applying though.

I have this in shade No. 100, named ‘Name It As You Like!’ which is a lavender-grey taupe; slightly shimmery & though it’s called a Khol Kajal (isn’t that redundant?) it’s a regular eyeliner pencil, smooth & easy to apply, needing sharpening perhaps every 3rd or 4th use. It isn’t a true middle eastern khol which you’d pull along your waterline; it’s a grease pencil. This shade is what makes it amazing; it’s the kind of coolish slightly silvery neutral pale lavender taupe that we’re all looking for; I’ve never really seen an e/l pencil in this same shade though I’ve looked everywhere. The color is close to Art Deco 218 e/s, or the Guerlain Khol in Oriental Metal, Bobbi Brown Fawn (though a bit cooler), or Laura Mercier Margaux (a discontinued matte e/s); a gorgeous lavender-taupe which emphasizes blue eyes without looking harsh. And it was 3 euros and change — really an amazing buy. I wish Catrice gave their products simpler names or just numbers; this name in particular is pretty annoyinging adolescent with it’s accompanying exclamation point. My guess is that the German company is showing off its skill in English puning; for native English speakers however the names are just dopey.

Though I don’t use khol in a daily basis, I admit this is a key product in any make up case and, of course, the detail that makes the difference in a chic look. Thus, I wanted to buy something simultaneously long-lasting and not too expensive.
Lucky for me, this one was a win-win: not only it is smooth, very easy to apply and nicely pigmented (a deep black) but the price is truly unbeatable (2.49€)! As I said before, khol pencils aren’t really my cup of tea, so I wouldn’t know the difference between an excellent product and another one that is just ok, but terrible pencils reveal themselves from the very first use, and definitely it’s not the case.
I give it four lippies because the price/quality ratio is high and I’ve only had good experiences with my purchases from Catrice. Way to go!
