I have very mixed feelings towards this product – I would like to clarify that I *did* repurchase the newer product design so I considered checking “yes would repurchase”, but I’m not sure how I feel with it overall. The product has been revamped since the Coty buyout from Procter and Gamble and the paddle design is now a slim tip felt marker style.
Paddle: This design offered two methods of lining: thick or thin. It was very very black and actually quite water resistant which I was surprise to find. You could go back over a line and it wouldn’t lift product. It was pretty good in terms of performance! However the product design did not allow the greatest ease of use if you only use your dominate hand to apply your makeup (which I believe most people do…) as when you moved your arm to the other eye you would have to ensure that you were not drawing at such an angle that it would flatten the paddle. You obviously do not want random variation on how your eyeliner looks on each eye. The main problem I had with it was that it was a very firm felt tip, and possibly the roughest, most scratchy texture of anything I have ever put near my eye. Seriously this was uncomfortable bordering painful. This was changed with the revamp of the product….
Skinny tip: The new design offers greater, more uniform control of your eyeliner. It is thankfully more comfortable to apply and decidedly less scratchy. However it is more like childhood water painting now. The really runny thin kind. It now lifts product. It is also very light. I would say it has changed to be more of a “Charcoal” black than black ink, and even the undertone of the liner has changed. It went from deep, warm-toned black from the paddle shape to lukewarm and thin cool off-black in the skinny one. This is now an overall miss for me, but it wasn’t wonderful to begin with so I guess there is no great loss there.

I’ve never had good luck w pens so I will probably be coming back to revise this. But today I love this Pen. It’s a dupe for the chisel tip on EL Little Black Dress eyeliner & it’s so easy to make wings I’m going to flit fly flutter away! If this dries up I will be so mad. I’m giving it 2 weeks tops but the cover needs to stay on more tightly if it did I’d give it 2 months & be thrilled. It’s inky Black. It’s promising. I’ll keep using it. Stay tuned.

The paddle tip is a cute concept, but mostly proves to be awkward in application. If you want to have the thick-to-thin option, better to choose something with a stylus tip or chisel point. (Think calligraphy: nobody does it with a flat, round-end paddle.) Furthermore, the cap kept popping off in my eyeliner basket and the tip doesn’t perform the best over eyeshadow. You have to keep pressing it to get the “ink” flowing. It finally went in the trash.

This eyeliner works really well for me, because I don’t smudge the makeup as much. I really love it and will use it again when I run out.

It is a very black liner.
I got in a Target beauty bag.
I will not repurchase.
I guess there is a learning curve on the paddle application. I cannot use with speed or ease.
The cap does not snap on the product. Guaranteed that the cap will come off in your makeup bag and get all over everything.
This is the 2nd Cover Girl liner I have tried and had issues. See my review on the LineBlast 24 Hour Eyeliner.
I will not purchase another Cover Girl liner product.

I love the paddle-shaped felt tip that makes it easy to draw thick or thin lines! I do not love that the liner soon starts smearing off my oily eyelids to give me raccoon eyes. Pass.

I felt that the shape of this eyeliner was too thin and made it hard to put it on. It was very hard to get used to using it, but once I did, it was pretty good. However, it took a long time to dry when it was on my eyes. It also dried out too quickly, in like 2-4 weeks. Although it wasn’t horrible, I wouldn’t recommend this eyeliner.

Meh.
Not impressed. I purchased this because it was on sale dirt cheap. I should have read online reviews first.
The good:
– The shape of the felt tip applicator makes it easy to apply a very thin line right up agains the lashes.
– The felt tip also makes it easy to switch from a thin line to a thick line half way through applying. Simply turn the pen in your hand as you apply to start off with a thin line near the corner of the eye and get thicker as you get towards the outer eye.
The bad:
– I personally find it difficult to get a tapered finish when I use to give a cats eye effect.
– It doesn’t go on really black. I found that I needed to go over it a second time to get black rather than charcoal.
– It doesn’t dry quickly enough and that means it can smudge.
Even dirt cheap, it’s no bargain.

This eyeliner performs really well… it wears all day with no signs of fading, and it’s super, SUPER black and opaque. I also like the concept of the “thick-or-thin” applicator tip.
However, I won’t be purchasing it again because it is a literal pain to apply! The tip is very stiff and does not glide smoothly across the lash line… it drags and feels very scratchy, a similar sensation to scraping a fingernail across your eyelid. I also find that it’s difficult to maneuver; even when I’m using the “thin” side of the applicator, I can’t seem to get it as close to my lash line as I’d like, which isn’t a problem I’ve had with any of the other pen-style eyeliners I own. Such a bummer, because I really do like the formula of the product itself.

This is the best drugstore liquid eyeliner. I like the pen format, very easy to use. I have the non-water proof formula and I don’t have trouble with it. It is very black. My first one is running out after months of use, so it didn’t dry out after just few uses either. I have bought a backup. I will buy this again after I run out of my backup.
