This is my first purchase from the widely applauded Gucci Beauty range and, I have to confess, it was the luxe packaging which drew me to the product over my usual Bobbi Brown eyeliners and NARS eye paint staples.
I had been in the lookout for a midnight/ deep cobalt blue eyeliner pot for some time, as neither of my staple brands had come up with the Holy Grail blue eyeliner which I had in my head. My Gucci Precision Liner in Midnight Blue comes pretty close (I can’t name it The HG, just in case I discover something else later!).
The blue is a vibrant dark cobalt blue which doesn’t black out and holds its own colour against my dark eyeshadows. The texture is really fluid despite coming out of a pot, and I have no issues with application with my angled eyeliner brush, which allows me to pull much thinner lines that I can achieve with my Bobbi Brown or NARS pots. More importantly, the colour stays true all day, no matter the heat and humidity, and lasts a good 14+ hours without any smudging or bleeding.
For the £21 RRP price tag, you get a generous 4g of product (compared to 2.5g for Bobbi Brown and NARS) which, along with the wide-brim jar and sleek logo, feels like I am getting extra value for money (although I’m not sure that there is actually more volume of product compared to my staple brands). I believe the Midnight Blue Infinite Precision eyeliner is part of Gucci’s permanent range, but I will definitely be getting a backup (or two) as I’ve been unable to leave it alone now for 4 weeks running.
