I’m a die-hard fan of Sephora’s pencil liners because the quality and colour selection are both outstanding and they are very affordable. BUT….the colour of this new pencil from NARS intrigued me. These High Pigment Longwear liners are a new formula/release from NARS and while I find most of the colours can be had from Sephora’s line at about 1/3 the price, Mulholland Drive is unique and worth the painful $33 these pencils cost here. It looks dark red when you look at the tip of the pencil itself but it applies as the most stunningly rich and complex shade of bronze-y brown. Temptalia lists Sephora’s Cappuccino (my “holy grail” liner) as a dupe but as much as I love it, it’s not quite the same and the difference in how it looks on my eyes makes me willing to pay the higher price for this gorgeously flattering pencil. Wear time lives up to the promise of “Longwear” and “High Pigment” isn’t an idle claim either. I’m seriously considering buying a back-up lest these be discontinued or Sephora stops carrying them.
