I have several of the NYX faux blacks eyeliners and have become a fan of the line. The eyeliner Black Hole is no exception. It is a very pigmented and easy to use aubergine eyeliner. I particularly love to use this as a grungy waterline color when I do all-purple eye looks. It glides on smoothly and stays very well in the waterline. Given how watery my eyes are this is quite an accomplishment! I would highly recommend this eyeliner to others looking for a shade like this.

Not sure if they’ve improved the formula since the past reviewers have tried this product, but I love this eyeliner. I was looking for a dupe for Chanel’s Cassis liner which Meghan Markle uses to line her water line and I have to say Black Hole is pretty darn close to that aubergene deep/dark plum colour. It doesn’t wipe off easily and is super creamy. Lasts a very long time on my waterline. I implore the reviewers below me to give this product another shot 🙂

I agree with the previous reviewer, although I have the dark red shade Oxblood instead. Red eyeliners are hard to come by, and red lip products more often than not contain pigments that are not eye safe.
I love the Faux Whites collection, so I thought these would be like them but with dark colours instead of pastels. On the surface they are very similar, same design of pencil except they have a black coating instead of white. They are soft, creamy, and matte just like the Faux Whites, and initially it goes on comfortably and evenly with bold colour. However, they smudge and smear SO much more than the Faux Whites! They don’t last long at all, I used it on my lower eyelid’s outer third only, which tends to be less oily than my hooded upper eyelid and generally where most eyeliners I wear stay put the longest. This was patchy and half gone after around 2 hours, lots of smudging and settling into the lines that appear next to my eyes’ outer corners when I smile. Admittedly not my best look. Also, it wound up so uneven that it kind of looked like I’d scratched the skin there.
It’s disappointing how short-lived it was, as the Faux Whites are some of my favourite eyeliners ever – matte pastel colours that last all day and glide smoothly on when applying. Great for a natural inner corner highlight, or as an eye colour enhancer on the lower waterline in a shade that contrasts the iris or a coloured contact lens. The Faux Blacks also has a good range of shades, which are genuinely very pretty on – but unfortunately the formula lets them down. I’d advise not to waste your money on these as although the shades are beautiful, the colours alone can’t save its poor performance.

I’m always looking for dark eyeliners that aren’t totally black that I can use in my inner eye to create softer looks so I got excited when I saw these thinking they might be nice to try. I actually really like NYX’s Slim Eye Pencil in Black, it’s very similar in wear to MAC’s Eye Kohl in Smolder which is a staple of mine. So, I got the Faux Blacks eyeliner in Black Hole and I have to say…extremely dissapointed!!!! It’s patchy when I swatch it on my hand and even worse patchiness ensues when I try to use it as an inner eyeliner. I tried it several times, couldn’t get it to work and it just rubbed right off under my eyes. I can use it as a regular eyeliner I suppose, but it doesn’t suit the purpose it’s advertised for. DISLIKE!!!!
