A random eyeliner at Target and probably the best one. It lasted a long time, cost me a dollar and is dark A’F. I love this stuff if you got $3 to spend buy this stuff

A good liquid liner with a good price. Not the blackest ink but you can build it up. For its price, it’s definitely worth it for daily use.

This was an impulse buy at my local CVS.
Nice felt tip liner for the price. You will have to use primer with it and powder if you want it to last all day. Otherwise a cheaper alternative for someone who wants to experiment with felt tips. I have the Milani one and I would say the essence tip is stiffer but you can make a decent cat /wing eye on top. I do not line my bottom lids so cannot say how well it would stand up, but I noticed the brown seemed to smudge at the corner (after a long hot day) of my sensitive watery eyes. Again use primer and top with translucent powder to keep in place for 8-12 hours.

I’m so surprised this hasn’t worked for many, It’s been a pleasant surprise for me, with a few disclaimers.
Firstly, I actually only buy this to get nice wings. I find the felt tips (I have the double sided ones and both ends are really easy to work with) great if you have difficulty getting the winged look. My eye shape and the way my lashes grow in the outer corners make a winged liner tricky to pull off, but I’m always able to do it with this liner.
Secondly, while I don’t think it’s grey or charcoal (mine is definitely black), I do go over twice to get it really black. I don’t mind this as my first application is mostly a “sketch” to get it right, and when that’s how I want it, I just go over again to darken it, and for me personally, it wouldn’t even be a problem if I had to go over with gel as I really just need help getting the shape right, which essence does. I can see how for those who are otherwise able to get their liner right on the first try this double application is an unnecessary nuisance, but in my case, it’s just right.
Thirdly, mine have never dried too soon, BUT :
1. The double sided ones definitely last longer and give a smooth, even application, and the ink just seems to have better consistency than with the one sided ones.
2. I buy mine in Europe, I wonder if the formula sold in the states is the same, seeing how many people report theirs dried out so quickly.
It lasted okay on me, no smudging, fading, and I don’t even use primer, setting powder or spray- but I also never wore it for more than a few hours so really can’t tell how it would fare if worn all day.
I really appreciate that it’s kind on the eyes. Until this one, I threw out liners because they irritated badly, or were impossible to use, or both.
For the 2 in 1 (double sided):
I have repurchased several times, and probably will again when I’m into winged liner again. I do recommend, provided you don’t mind having to apply twice for a full black line, you want a tip that makes drawing on wings easier, and that wherever you’re buying them the formula isn’t consistently useless. I feel bad for people who got dry items as this otherwise makes winged liner extra easy.

Got the 2 in 1 version of this pen which is double-sided. It’s a watery grey mess no matter how much you shake it before using, a waste of money.
Pros: cheap; loved the thin side of the pen itself – easy to use
So-so: the thick marker type side is harder to use but disposed decent amount of product
Cons: thin side was extremely watery & grey; impossible to use thin side

I would give this zero if I could. I am a massive fan of Essence products, but this is the 3rd pen product I have tried in this brand and every single one of them has been dry on first use or has dried out within a couple of uses. They are absolutely useless!!!!! If you want a decent pen style liquid eyeliner at a cheap price, try Maybelline Master Precise. That is the one I will be using from now on. I don’t know how Essence are allowed to sell these. If one failed, I could understand it, but to have 3 different types of pen liners dry up within 1 or 2 uses, then there is a big problem!!!!

I randomly bought this just to see what it’s like, and so far I love it. It applies well and is super black which I like. And it doesn’t come off after curling my eyelashes! Even KVD came off when I curled my lahses! It’s pretty long-lasting. I’ve noticed a bit of bleeding but that’s after 9+ hours usually. I’ve seen some reviews about it drying out after a month. I’ll update if that happens. I love it, especially for the price so in the mean time, I would repurchase.
Update- repurchased this, and the new one is no way near in quality as the first pen I got. It streaks, it’s watery, not as black. I don’t think I’ll risk repurchasing again.

For me, this eyeliner was a good example of “you get what you pay for.” At first, it worked pretty well. However, by the second use, it had just about dried out completely and it could not make a smooth line. I tried storing it upside down for a while and this revived it a little, but it dried out in the middle of doing my eyeliner! Since this was the first eyeliner I ever bought, I guess I could say it’s good for if you want to practise before spending money on a more expensive eyeliner. But overall, despite it being so cheap, it really isn’t worth it if you can only get such limited use out of it. If it wasn’t for that, I think it would be a decent eyeliner. The felt tip makes it easy to be precise and it can build up to a pretty opaque black. I gave it one point for that and another for being so inexpensive… but I can’t say I will be repurchasing this product again.

The felt tip is huge and I kept poking my eye.
Plus it bleeds. 🙁 Panda eyes every time I use this.

This was my first eyeliner and I loved it because it was so easy to use. But after I ran out of it and bought more, I thought that I probably got very lucky with the first batch, because what I had afterwards were eyeliner pens that would last at most one month, the colour would fade to grey after a couple of weeks and would stay on my eyes for only a few hours.
