This is a fantastic eyeliner for the price. It glides on very easy and not overly dry so you can smudge it a bit if you want to. It stays on without having to retouch it for many hours. Easy to remove with makeup wipes. The color is consistent with the cap packaging. I even use this to fill in my brows. I just love this product…I will try it again as a base. I absolutely love this color. Price $25.00
Rated 4 out of 5 by Mike P from Better than anything I bought this for my part, also very good primer! This one was not too expensive. My only downfall was the picture of the swatch so i never got a full picture on it. Anyways I don’t remember its being cut out so i wouldn’t spend the $15 for a decent product.
Rated 5 out of 5 by ER from Flustered me out Great white shade! It’s a great white, if I may say so myself. It stays on pretty light and easily to retouch. For the price, it’s a solid product for this price.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Anonymous from Essential I like my brush too, but not as much as the company suggest. Very used in my lab to look at makeup and I don’t think I’ll ever use it in my time. Not an eye makeup care brush, but they’ve done a great job of you sticking cream to eyes and i can’t wait to use it in my everyday wear
Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous from This is my First PRODUCT I really love my product and it is very wearable. I will not be buying any more products from this company

I really wanted to like this eyeliner, because I had been searching for a go-to “brown” eyeliner. (After 15-20 years of wearing either black or teal eyeliner, my sister-in-law said that I should consider a more subtle brown, so I cross-referenced MUA and Amazon reviews to come up with a “drugstore” winner- though I ended up purchasing this on Amazon, $9 in 07/2017).
Here’s what I like about this pencil:
– first, it had good reviews, which I rely on heavily
– it’s auto/self-sharpening, which is a must for me
– it’s a drugstore brand, and generally this product looks like it’s $10 or less
– the color is a dark brown, which looks good and “subtle but not too subtle” on my skin
– the color applied easily, with no tugging; I changed my usual technique and instead applied this on my upper eyelid
But the dealbreaker is that: it irritates my eyes. This is the first Almay product I’ve ever used, with a lot of good points … so it sucks to find out that I can’t handle one of the ingredients. This pencil usually resides in my make-up bag for the gym, and I distinctly remember applying it last Sunday morning … and by Sunday afternoon, my eyes were stinging, and I kept blinking painfully until I washed my eyes thoroughly. And that happens every single time I apply this eyeliner. Sigh. The hunt for a good brown eyeliner continues.

I have deep-set hooded eyes, and this liner (Black-Brown 02) smears in perfect raccoon eye circles. The built-in sharpener is also very annoying to use.

For comparison use the skin-safe formula at /R%Ph for more stringent dyes:

The sample sample sizes are just a matter of convenience. Add some color (for less reliance on the pink mark), attach some ball bearing and an extra bunch of fingerprints to it!

Applies easily but smudges just as easily.
Makes a horrid mess.

I got this eyeliner at Rite-Aid on a sale they had, I believe I paid about $3.50 for it.After trying it out for a couple weeks and using it daily, I realized I really dislike this eyeliner for a few reasons:
– it smudges like crazy (even with primer and eyeshadow on)
– it doesn’t go on very dark
– It gets dull super easily, probably because its so creamy.
I went back and got my HG eyeliner which is CG INK IT, and ran out which in a desperate pinch for time I had to use this eyeliner again as back up and it just reassured me that it sucks. Blah

I love how this eyeliner glides on so smoothly! My hands are too shaky for liquids and gels, so pencils are the way to go. This doesn’t tug on your skin like those actual pencils. The consistency is in between a pencil and a gel actually. It can also blend out easily if you want a smokier look. It stays put and creases minimally (but still creases if you have super oily lids like me) I also really like how there’s a built in sharpener.

I bought this at the same time as I bought Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliner; UD I bought in a very dark blue color, this Almay in black. I loved the color of the UD liner–still do! so flattering and the dark blue whitens the eyes–but now I think it goes on a bit blotchy, and it does smudge by the end of the day.
And I’m liking this Almay more and more. It does take a few goes to get good coverage, so I get why people here are complaining about that, but it’s much better than most drugstore liners in that regard. And once it’s on, it’s finely drawn and it stays. Also, the UD constantly requires sharpening. Kind of a drag.
If Almay would make this in a very dark blue, I’d buy it. As it is, it’s now my go-to black liner.
BTW, other black liners I was using were Rimmell (looks great at first, then smudges), Lancome (makes my vision blur).
NOTE: Changed to 2 lippy rating; it began to wear off very easily. Now I’ve got UD Waterline in Legend. So far so good with that, but we shall see.

This is the eyeliner I use every day, and have been for years. It is easily applied, stays on and doesn’t smudge away. I wouldn’t even try another eyeliner from the drugstore. (The other eyeliners that I use occasionally are mac, and mineral powder.) The ‘pencil sharpener’ tool on the other end of it doesn’t work for me because the product will just break off.. but I don’t ever need to sharpen it.

I saw this at CVS for years but never bought it because I just assumed it wouldn’t be good. I’ve used other waxy-type pencils in the past and wasn’t impressed. However, I ended up purchasing this based on the reviews on this site. I SURE AM GLAD I DID !!! This stuff lasts forever and it doesn’t leave dark circles under my eyes. Also, it is easy to apply it even over powder eye shadows without it doing a disappearing act. With my old eye pencil, as soon as powder got on it, it wouldn’t work, but this pencil cuts through the powder eye shadows and keeps on working without me having to wipe it off. I will buy this again and again. The price is very reasonable, and often it is on sale, plus there are frequently discount coupons in the Sunday paper.
My only quibble, and to me it’s a big one, is the packaging. What’s wrong? Well, where do I put the cap when I’m using it? Every other pencil I’ve ever used has a cap that fits on the opposite end of the pencil when it’s being used. That way, you never have to worry about losing the cap. But not this one. You have to just hold the cap in your free hand or put it on the counter and hope it doesn’t roll away and get lost.

This is my go-to liner. My skin is EXTREMELY oily yet this liner stays put pretty well. The product does dry out and can be a little hard to glide on but the payoff is still worth it.
