I had to spend some time on Youtube trying to decide about this palette. Cargo palettes can be hit-and-miss; though I love the colors in Shanghai the quality overall is “meh”.
So under the careful guidance of Tati I went for it. Of course that was the easy part – actually finding the darned thing was bizarrely difficult. Ebay is recommended if you can find a reputable seller (and there are many).
The packaging is sturdy with a magnetic closure and it’s pretty klutz-proof. I never deliberately throw around eyeshadow palettes but for some reason I invariably end up dropping them onto the floor at least once during their lifetime. I don’t know why. Well, I do – I’m a klutz and there’s no denying it. Anyway.
There’s a decent sized mirror, and the brush is (surprisingly?) actually quite practical.
Texture-wise, there are some perfectly nice mattes with the chestnut brown on the lower right of the palette being particularly dreamy. The more shimmery shades are excellent with the exception of one – Crisp – which drops more glitter than a disco ball. Having said that it’s nothing a good brush can’t swipe away.
Where this palette really shines though is with the actual shade selection. There are three in particular which blew me away (Cinnamon, Rustic & Withered Leaves) and we have Frolic and Black Crow in the backfield begging to show off their smoky eye awesomeness. They’re pretty enough in the box, but on the eye – wow. Just wow.
These are very soft shadows which beg for a light hand. The pigmentation is stellar (except for Crisp – I can’t get past that, sorry) and I would have expected to pay quite a bit more than the list price.
They do last quite well without a primer, but use a primer anyway to get the full benefit. My primed eye went about 9-10 hours (minor fading but no creasing), and the unprimed eye got about 7 hours of wear before a touch up was considered.
Overall? Winner. Absolutely.

I love this palette!
You get twelve pigmented neutral-toned shadows. Five of them are matte: Harvest Moon (white), Hot Coco (light brown), Autumn (brown pink), Chestnut (dark brown) and Black Crow (black). The other seven are shimmery, but none of them are chunky or overly glittery: Crisp (light highlight white), Cuddle (light pink), Frolic (light brown), Cinnamon (gold), Withered Leaves (green), Rustic (bronze) and Twigs (blue).
The shadows are very versatile and you can get a lot of looks out of using only this palette. They also last a long time on the lids, with or without using a primer. The package is very sturdy and it comes with a double ended brush. I don’t have anything bad to say about this palette, if you can get your hands on it, go for it!
