I purchased this pencil in the shade “Taupe” (I am such a sucker for taupe!). It’s a great product and the price is hard to beat, especially when these go on sale, as they often do. The colour of this pencil is a beautiful, silvery taupe. It has shimmer but not glitter so it’s perfectly wearable for work/daytime and it’s another of those great products that works so well for a quick eye look, either on its own or how I prefer it – with a matte grey/brown that isn’t too dark just to give a bit of crease definition. These seal really well though I’ve had the same experience as Eva32 – pulling off the snug fitting lid has taken off a little bit out of the side of mine too. But having a secure fitting lid is a real plus since it helps prevent drying out and it makes it safe to carry these pencils with you in your purse makeup bag! I just need to remember to wind this down before taking off the lid! This particular pencil is the best base for using under NARS Kalahari eyeshadow duo. The shimmer in it and the colour itself work together to really intensify the way the powder shadows show up on my lids. The only “downside” of these – not a lot of colour selection and not a lot of darker neutrals. I also find these don’t wear quite as well as the similar pencils from Lise Water, but a touch of TFSI helps prolong the wear if I’m facing a long day.

Awesome! I use these to draw a line on my upper lid and it’s the most gorgeous eye look I’ve achieved in 25 years of wearing makeup. The “Plum” colour in particular is a silvery lavender and gives a nice subtle sparkle to my hazel eyes. And, it’s waterproof so it lasts all day. PS. (update) I tried this in “Violet” and while it looks almost identical in the package to Plum, on the skin it’s very different – it has multi-coloured glitter in the lavender base – while the Plum is just a subtle silver shimmer. Definitely prefer the Plum!

This is hands down, one of the best cream eyeshadows I’ve tried, and I have bought quite a few. First, I want to discuss my past experiences with cream shadows. I initially liked the Revlon Illluminance Cream Shadows, but I found them hit or miss, fairly messy, and creased quite easily. Then I tried the GOSH eyeshadow stick, which dried out very quickly, but stayed a tad longer. Finally, the NYX eyeshadow pencils were very creamy and pigmented and they stayed longer than the Revlon cream shadows, but they still weren’t the best. This cream shadow pencil has all of the best qualities of the other cream shadows, and very little of the negative qualities. It is quite reasonable priced at $7 at my local Target. It is creamy and long-lasting, incredibly pigmented, and stays on without creasing longer than all of my other cream shadows. It is retractable, so no need to deal with sharpening, and my shade in Plum is a beautiful cool, lavender colour. I especially loved how it made my purple eyeshadows that much brighter and prettier. The only negative factor I found was that the cap was a tad difficult to pull off, and I ended up damaging a chunk of the pencil. But aside from that, it a nearly perfect product!

Annabelle is always reliably excellent. They’ve done it again with a longlasting twist-up (and retractable) eyeshadow crayon, like many other companies are releasing these days. $7-9 (depending on sales here in Canada) will get you an emolliant, workable shimmer that you can easily blend to a very flattering, gentle glow, or intensify with another layer. Sets and lasts all day. Slightly slimmer than the other ‘chunky’ crayon type of shadow pencils. Colour range includes a gorgeous silvery plum and a great taupe, as well as pink, beige and grey.
