If you’re looking for a glittery turquoise eye shadow, look elsewhere. Nars’ Tropic isn’t for you. Instead, it is a darkish shade with a subtle sparkle here and there and I guess depending on your skin tone, it may or not look nice. I like it on my medium olive skin but to give it a kick, I would have to mix with a lighter eye shadow underneath and add more glitter to eventually look what the colour in the pan deceitfully makes you think it looks like.
All in all, I just don’t regret buying it because at the end of the day, make up is never too much.

I do like the color, but was surpised how matte and understated it goes on, compared to what it looks like in the box. It is darker, too, much more turquoise looking in the pan. I do like it, but it is not all that. I have to use 3 different shadow brushes to get dimension from it and make it come alive. It takes work, though it is pretty. It is subtle and elegant. I said no to buying it again only because there are so many lovely blues out there, I would be more inclined to try a Sisley or La Prairie blue.

I love Tropic, it is one of those eyeshadows that just stands out when you’re looking at all the NARS shadows. Its so glittery and the color is just gorgeous. Its a teal blue shadow, that is covered in glitter…atleast in the pan :P. It is definitely leaning towards being more matte because the color swatches with glitter flying everywhere that basically it’ll be matte on the lids. Nonetheless its gorgeous and if u have a good base I’m sure the glitter will stay put because it does stick initially, then just flies away. I will probably repurchase this again if I ever run out. 🙂

don’t buy this if you’re attracted to the color or glitter. the glitter falls off as you’re applying the shadow, & the color looked liked a dark wash denim. it’s not bad, but completely different than what you’re expecting. i applied it over mac painterly & it was a flat dark blue denim color. for the price i wanted what it appeared to be.

So disappointed. The color is beautiful in the pan, and when first applied, but it wears off after a couple hours, even with primer and shelaq. Waste of money.

Like a dress that looks better on the hanger, this looks way better in the pan (as do most NARS single eyeshadows with sparkle). In the pan it is the most gorgeous teal shade with silver sparkles. However, it is an PITA to apply. It goes on quite streaky and uneven, that is problem #1. Problem # 2 is that the glitter application is sporadic. Sometimes the brush picks up lots of glitter, sometimes none. And oh boy, is there fallout! Not quite to the extent of the infamous UD Midnight Cowboy Rides again, but still pretty bad.
Will definitely not repurchase.

The two lippies goes to the intensity of the pigmentation. But I can’t say anything else that’s good about this shadow. On it’s own, it has no staying power–you can really only pack it on with your brush and never really blend out because then the brush just starts taking the shadow off your lid. And the glitter? It won’t stick to anything. I know, it’s glitter. But there are better glittery shadows out there where the chunks of glitter actually stay where they are supposed to and not blown off. If you swatch the shadow on your hand and blow on it, you’ll see more than half the glitter just fly off. Definitely not worth the 26CAD. It went back to the store.

tropics….a big let down. the colour its self is really pretty. a gorgoeus blue with green undertones. BUT it is so chunky! silver chunks everywhere. the kind of silver glitter u get at a craft store. turn off! so i will never repurchase and neither will i use it =.=

I absolutely love this color. Gorgeous, velvety, rich deep-teal green color…Highly pigmented. I am not a fan of glitter but it does not adhere to my eye lids/comes right off when I apply it. My only gripe: The glitter is getting all over the makeup tray in my e/s drawer

What a great teal eye shadow!! I just got it today, I tried on and I found out I LOVE it. it is teal with glitter. The glitter doesnt show up very much in your lids. but the color definitely shows up. This beautiful teal are suitable for night out in my mind, probably too much for daily looking.
