I have two other Super Shock shadows, and really like them. They are sort of a powder cream formula. When you dip into it, it feels like a cool cream but dries to a powder. These are best applied with a finger.
The problem with this one it that it doesn’t DO anything. In the pot, it looks like a beautiful champagne with a light teal color shift, which it what I was expecting. When I tried it in the store, I thought it was dried out a little so I didnt get much color payoff, but when I bought it and tried it at home, it was just as non existent. The champagne doesn’t come through at all, if anything, it’s a little orangey, and the teal really only shows when it’s hit directly by the light and then looks a bit thin. Because of its consistency, it doesn’t layer well over other powders (I tried it over another neutral to bolster it) and I didnt have much luck blending it. If anything, this reminds me of kid’s makeup, where it gives a bit of a fun, funky color but it’s not particularly “real” makeup, kwim? It also had 0 staying power.
I would say that even if you only want a subtle color shift shadow in a fun color, this isn’t a great choice. It was $5. That’s the best thing about it-an affordable experiment

I finally got to test out the Sailor eyeshadow, after it being sold out for a little while! It’s from the Super Shock line, which means that it’s a cream product that is best applied with fingers. The texture is like something between a powder and a cream – very smooth, non-sticky, non-oily, easy-to-blend.
This particular shadow is what Colourpop calls an *Ultra-Glitter*. From pictures of the shadow in the packaging it might look like it’s just a beige, but it also has sky blue glitter in it. Personally, I love to use anything blue on my eyes, but it’s a color I feel I have to be a little sneaky with if I want to wear it in a more professional setting… so hidden blue shimmer is a great way to go! 😉
I have about NC20 skin, and this eyeshadow’s base color doesn’t actually show up on my skin – I don’t know whether it would do on darker skin. The main effect I get is just light blue shimmer wherever the light hits my skin right on. My husband was quite fascinated with this eyeshadow too – it was apparently very glittery and pretty!
Otherwise: easy to apply, but might have some fallout – the shimmer is not very small, so that’s the consequence. Even though I love how this looks on, I give this a 4 for that, because I apparently had quite shimmery cheekbones when wearing this without a primer. It’s not such an issue if you apply primer first, but I don’t really appreciate having to do that. Otherwise, this wore all day, no problems.
Would I recommend? If you like the effect and like to use cream shadow: yes. If you would rather use a powder eyeshadow, check out Glass Bull from Colourpop. It doesn’t have a beige base color, but rather a transparent purple (that barely shows up), but it’s quite similar (I will do a side-by-side photo of the two colors when I have time). If you have darker skin and worry about the beige looking weird, I recommend Glass Bull.
Last thing: a small comment about the packaging. I’m not a big fan of it. I like the look of it, but it’s a bit bulky, and sometimes, the shadows can fall out – not good. Often, the cream spins around in the box… not good. I don’t know how easy it is to crack any of these, or how fast they will dry out. Will probably report back if I have any news on either.
