AWFUL. there is absolutely no pigment and if you get any on your eye you look like a zombie.the highlighter colour is okay but the dark purple is just revolting. Makes me look dead. NOT WORTH The MoNEY.

Typical LM packaging–GORGEOUS!! This is a daytime palette for sure. IMO this palette bypasses a whole generation. This is great for a young girl starting her MU routine (AHEM, a very well off girl ), or for a mature woman not wanting to look OTT. This quad is so sheer, that there isn’t enough layering that can be down to really punch up these colors. The texture is great, making it easy to blend but honestly blend what–in the end they all look the same. For the price, I not only wanted more but expected more.

Oh, dear, it looks like I will be the odd man out on this quad. I am very disappointed. This quad is so amazingly appealing in the pans, but the color payoff is minimal. When I put them on, there is nothing that stands out beyond average, even a little- dare I say it?- boring. I am a huge violet/purple/plum eyeshadow addict, but this one is going back to Sephora. Really blah.

I love purple shadow but it can look heavy handed for daytime. I bought this in the hopes that it would be sheer enough to actually wear anytime. I’m really happy with it, and it does look subtle enough to wear to work. The colors are sheer and have a slightly shimmery finish. No sparkles thankfully. I wouldn’t say that these are very pigmented, but there absolutely is enough color to show up without layering. These purples are beautiful–not the standard violets that I tend to see everywhere. I can very very leery of violet colors because they can look candy colored or overly bright. But these are unusually natural colored. Like a purple that you can find in nature. Love it.

Oddly enough I just dont like this quint. I dont like the staying power. I am getting to the point where I want to make my own looks and just am getting rid of my palettes. This does have some great colors for purples and it nice to wear.

I headed out to the LM counter for soft purple eyeshadow, and this fits the bill exactly! There are two quads, this and wild violet, the latter being the cooler, more dramatic of the two. First off, after using MAC eye shadows for the previous several months, applying these was a really nice change. They are much softer and smoother going on and blend much much easier. That said, I kind of agree with the previous reviewer, these aren’t overly pigmented, but they also don’t go on sheer by any means. I knew when purchasing this that it wouldn’t be overly pigmented, because it didn’t show up that dark on my hand (the wild violet shades swatched darker). I applied this over my soft ochre paint pot, which i used as a base and the colours showed up as much as I needed them too. If it was any more pigmented, these particular shades would’ve looked over the top. I was also able to add some colour over my crease without it looking to garish, and for this reason, i find that the pigmentation suits the palette nicely. And i need to add that once on, these shadows look so smooth, not powdery at all and wore through the day without any issues. Having said all this, the actual colours themselves didn’t go on quite the same as they looked in the pan, that is, they looked like much warmer purples in the pan but went on looking like 4 very straightforward shades of purple, from light to very dark. All in all, it’s a great purple palette that is perfect for daytime, or can be smoked (with the help of a good dark MAC shadow!) for night.

Shy Violet eye shadow quad is part of the Spring 2008 Seduction collection. It has four red-based violet eyeshadows: a very pale pink-violet, a pink-mauve, a maroon color, and a black plum. All shades are infused with an extremely beautiful, delicate, light shimmer. This can be worn very sheerly (for day) or the darker colors can be used to make a more dramatic, smoky eye for night. This is one of the most beautiful shadow palettes I’ve ever used. Pressed into the shadows is a bas-relief violet, which adds an extra touch of beauty. I purchased both the Shy Violet and Wild Violet (blue-based violet) shadow quads. I expected to like Shy Violet better, but I prefer the Wild Violet. The red-based colors of Shy Violet are harder to wear, and can make the eye look tired/sore. The blue-based violet shades of Wild Violet counteract these problems and provide drama. Shy Violet is still a nice palette, especially for daytime wear if you make sure to line the eye with a non-red-based product. However, if you are going to buy only one, pick the Wild Violet. Recommended. ETA: Docked a lippie because it is difficult to get real color payoff with these. They go on very sheerly and it is hard to build color, even with an Eye Basic.
