I love neutral mattes and that is what I got with this eye shadow. It is a soft tan color that I normally use when I want a natural look. I use this on the crease with a ivory color on the lids. I also use it as a transition color with my darker browns.

A matte neutral medium tan/brown shade. I use it as a lid color on my nw25 – nw30 complexion. It is a your eyelid but better color for me -very natural. Not warm but also no pink undertone – can anchor many crease colors (from chocolate to plum)

This is a very neutral brown shade, completely matte. There are lots of similar shades out there but most of them have frost and I prefer shadow without it for daytime. The color seems slightly darker/cooler than the featured pic on this review.
This color has high-color payoff on my fair skin and always lasts all day on my oily eyelids but I do usually use primer.
This color is very flattering on blue eyes. I reach for this most every day and will repurchase when I run out.

I use this eyeshadow almost every day in the fall/winter. I actually picked it up because I loved this eyeshadow in the color “Camel” (which is almost the same color and is also completely matte), but my store didn’t have it when I went to repurchase it, and this looked exactly the same to me. So, if you can’t find this for some reason, that color is a great alternative.
It shows up on my fair, neutral-toned skin as a medium caramel color that looks great both as a lid color and as a crease color. Since it is a neutral color and completely matte (there is absolutely no hint of shimmer in this), I find that it’s perfect for a more professional environment, as well as for everyday.
I also think that it’s easily high-end quality. I also own MAC’s “Modelette” eyeshadow, which is a similar color (“Modelette” has a satin finish, however), and I actually find “Sable” to be more pigmented and just as long-wearing. That surprises me, because I’ve tried other Ulta eyeshadows and have found that most of them aren’t pigmented at all. This one just so happens to be particularly great, I think.
This is a must-have for me, and I will definitely repurchase it.

Sable is a medium, dusty brown color. It is completely matte, and is a neutral, slightly cool brown, certainly not warm. I use it in my crease pretty much on the daily, to create a very natural eye. This is great for that matte neutral, pinup look. It’s such a muted color that it’s perfect for doing cateye liner(which I use it for). The color payoff is not very good, but unless you want a mega brown eye(which I can’t imagine anyone would want with this color) it’s perfectly fine. The formula is not silky at all, another thing that dirt and this eyeshadow have in common. This brown would be somewhat easy to find in any brand that has a variety of colors. I might repurchase, but only out of convienance.

Sable is a very smooth light tan shade. Its extremely matte. Zero shimmer, glitter, or frost in it. Flat matte. I love that about this shadow..I can use it to create natural, finished looking, nude eyes. Great for in the crease. It is actually VERY similar to Ulta’s eyeshadow in Camel… If you already own Camel, you probably don’t need this one. They are so so very similar. Once on the lid, its very hard to tell a difference. Camel is just a tad bit more yellow tan and a hair lighter than Sable. This shadow is one that will be repurchased time and time again because you can use it so many different ways. I wear a lot of neutrals and nudes, so it gets picked up frequently… also it is great for blending out bold colors and toning them down. This shadow is very smooth, not chalky. It goes on like silk and blends like a dream. If you are looking for a good color to create a clean, finished, nude eye pick this color up. (and Bone while you are at it…they work great together) I purchased this as a bogo free (individual they are $7.00) You get 2.85 G/0.1 oz in the pan..good amount!
