I’m always looking for brightening eye shadows for the lids of my hooded, aging eyes. When I picked this palette up at Wal-Mart for $10, I wasn’t expecting Urban Decay-level performance but I was hoping it would be as good as a Revlon eye shadow quad. Seems reasonable, right?
Payoff was not good. I get that these are “nudes” but the shades I tried just barely showed up on my fair skin.
And then my eyes started to tear up. I washed off the eye shadow and the tears stopped. Next morning I didn’t use this but I used the brushes that I had used when I tried out this palette. My eyes teared up again.
Yesterday I wore some Revlon eye shadow (applied with some new eye shadow brushes) and there were no tears.
So my conclusion is that there’s something in these eye shadows that irritates my eyes. If you have sensitivities, I would recommend avoiding this palette.
I’ve bought e.l.f. Cosmetics for years. Some have been real hits. This was a real miss.
