Pressed Powder Shadow Palette – Yes, Please!

   This is a dupe for parts of the $129 Natasha Denona Sunset palette. Several YouTubers have comparisons of the two side by side where they have created the same look using one palette on each eye.

   I’ve had this for about a month. I think this palette will be useful Spring-Autumn, as it is very warm-toned, with reds, yellow and oranges. As with other Colourpop shadow singles and palettes: the quality is really, really good. One of the reasons I wanted this was because of the yellow colors – I haven’t really found yellow eyeshadow with a good formula before (best was ABH, but it was very powdery). As with other Colourpop eyeshadow: the formula is a little soft, a little powdery, but not overly so. The formula is the reason these blend so beautifully! I love that the colors stay on as well as they do; I don’t use eyeshadow primer, and the colors stay as vibrant at the end of the day as they were 15 hours earlier.

   After buying eyeshadow palettes many years back, I stopped, because I hated how I would finish a few colors I loved and then be stuck with an empty pan somewhere. I really appreciate that Colourpop palettes have magnetic pans that can be popped out and switched between different Colourpop palettes! The pans are slightly smaller than regular eyeshadow pans, so you can’t really replace them with eyeshadows from a different brand, or even Colourpop singles though. It doesn’t bother me – eyeshadow takes forever to use up anyway, so smaller is actually something I prefer.

   About this specific palette: I don’t have many bright warm colors, so I really like this. Colourpop generally likes to make warm colors, but there are no other palettes in their collection that could substitute this: only this palette has a matte yellow, shimmery tangerine (aside from the Astrology palette) and bright orange, the bright pink-red, rose with gold shimmer and more. As with all of their palettes though: there are a few shades I’m more “meh” about, but what I then do is to pop out a better shadow from my Fortune palette. Like: the light brown is a little too dark to easily use as a transition color for me, so I’ve switched it out with a lighter one. The darkest brown is a little too light to use as liner, so I’ve replaced it with a darker (that is better to use as liner). The really light peach shade isn’t something I use at this point, so switched it out with a completely different shadow. Still: even though this palette didn’t have everything I wanted, there are colors there that can not be replaced, and the quality of the shadows actually makes me excited to use them! Then there’s also some great “different looks using one palette”s, and I too will be putting out some pictures as I take them
