I am really surprised there are no other reviews for this quad! If you love murky, smoky neutrals, do yourself a favour and buy this before it’s gone. Posh Pedigree is LE for Fall 2015 from MAC’s Haute Dogs collection. Honestly, this is one of the BEST eyeshadow quads I’ve purchased. I like this even better than the Chanel Tisse d’automne quad I purchased a week or so back, and that is saying a LOT, as I really love the Chanel quad! The two quads have very similar colour vibes – olive-browns, golden bronzey shades, taupes – but even putting aside the price factor (the Chanel quad is about $10 more in Canada), I just adore this quad. The colours:
TOP LEFT – a very pale, brightening, slightly yellowish white that really gives a wide-awake look to the eyes. Unlike similar MES colours like this in past, this one is smooth and there is no fallout or chunks of glitter
TOP RIGHT – a perfect taupe/grey – the sort of colour I’m a total sucker for. This all on its own makes for a great quick eye look. Again, there is sheen but no fallout or glitter
BOTTOM LEFT – beautiful murky brown with green tones – great for outer lid or outer V or crease
BOTTOM RIGHT – an even darker and very creamy smooth version of the bottom left shade. It blends far better than I could have hoped. I tend to be very conservative with really dark shades like this because they can be hard to blend or just look too dark but because this one blends so nicely, it works really well for my needs.
(Just an FYI – the photo at the top of the page has the colours sort of “scrambled” – that’s not how they’re arranged in the pan but I think the photo is from the MAC website, which also shows them incorrectly!)
MAC’s Mineralize eyeshadows have always been iffy. Some are great while others look so beautiful in the pan but are a complete disappointment when applied (Family Silver from years back comes to mind). I do think they’ve improved and refined the formula over the years, though and this quad does NOT disappoint in any way. I am so pleased with this latest acquisition that I honestly think/hope I’ll be tapering off my make-up buying craziness for a few months at least! Like I say, if you are a neutrals lover and really like “autumn” type shades, get this quad!
