These are marketed by Sonia Kashuk as long wearing cream metallic eyeshadows that give you brighter looking eyes. Let me dissect how I feel about this product by going over these claims. I currently have the shades diamond and moonstone.
1) First of all, if you’re thinking this is the only shadow you have to use, unfortunately this is not the case. Once you stab applying this to your eye with either your fingers or your brush it applies sheer and patchy. You might need to go over it multiple times if you want it to be opaque. But since it’s so patchy it does not look attractive. This applies to both of the shades I have.
2) However, if I apply a dry eyeshadow in the similar color it really enhances the dry eyeshadow color on top. I have Asian skin so white eyeshadows can sometime be difficult to make it show on my skin tone. But if I use the shade diamond essentially as a primer/base then I have beautiful white opaque eyelids. I like to use my Nars dual intensity eyeshadow Andromeda (white shimmery eyeshadow) on top. The shade diamond has that brightening effect since it’s a white shade obviously. I can’t say the same about moonstone since it’s a light grey shimmery color. Moonstone does work well as a primer/base for cool toned grey dry eyeshadows though. I do reach more diamond more because I love the effect it has. I would say the diamond color changed my makeup game.
3) It does have a smooth and silky texture with easy application with the wand.
4) I used these sonia kashuk cream eyeshadows with and without an actual eyeshadow primer and I saw essentially no difference (longevity, the opacity of the eyeshadows on top); so you don’t have to apply an extra eyeshadow primer for these eyeshadows. However I do have non-oily lids and I don’t usually wear eye makeup for more than an 8-5 schedule.
5) The eyeshadows are non-irritating to my sensitive eyes
Overall, I definitely recommend the shade diamond, and I would repurchase this product. Moonstone is a good eyeshadow base if you frequently wear cool toned eyeshadows.
