In the pan, Passionate is a lovely hot pink-leaning-red matte eyeshadow. However, like many of MAC’s matte shadows, you have to really pack it on to get that color, otherwise it’s more of a sheer hot pink. It’s also not the easiest eyeshadow to blend. Personally I like to use it on the lid as a wash. It’s just my kind of color 🙂 Then I use Saddle and Carbon on the crease.
It can also be used as a blush. It’s very similar to MAC’s Frankly Scarlet– like a pinker, sheertone version of it.
As much as I love the color, I wish it were easier to use. I’ll buy again unless I find a dupe with more color payoff.

I tried very hard to make this work on my dark brown eyes and yellow undertones. The color payoff is horrible and is hard to blend. Yes it can look nice on lighter colored eyes, but it takes some serious doctoring up. I’ve seen it look good on NC 42 + skintones, as well as cool toned ladies. Not worth it in the long run. There are much more flattering shades out there for us brown eyed girls. Back to the MAC store it went.

I like this colour, but I find it a bit hard to blend with other colours so it rarely gets used. I think I’ll have to experiment some more with it.
