This is a lovely eyeshadow. I purchased Rosewood, and it’s an awesome color for green eyes. It’s very understated, but adds enough color to be really flattering without looking like you’ve overdone your eyeshadow. I think it’s supposed to be a cream to powder formulation. I used it without primer, and had no problems with major creasing or fading. I didn’t have eye cream on, and don’t normally have oily eyelids. I found it lasted a reasonable amount of time, with some gradual fading at about 8 hours. As others have said, the colors are limited, but the range offers something for everyone. Although I haven’t tried it yet, I imagine this can be used as a base (within reason), and should blend nicely with other colors in the range, or with other products. I will probably pick up at least one more.

Very nice eyeshadows. The color range is limited, but if you look for hues which look natural yet expressive and can be applied effortlessly, Ombre Matte is an excellent choice. I used them with Clarins Instant Light Primer (a disappointment- see my review there), but these eyeshadows which seem to be a crossover between powder and cream don’t really need a base to go on evenly.

I don’t know if these shadows are limited edition or permanent but you should do yourself a favour and run out and get at least one of these.
I purchased this new formulation of eyeshadow (think L’Oreal Infallible but without the glitter, shine, sparkle and more glitter) in the colour 03 (Taupe). The shadow itself is like a pressed powder/cream (not so creamy as a MAC Paint Pot, not so glittery as Chanel Illusion d’ombre) – it really is rather hard to describe but absolutely delicious to work with. 03 is a very grey taupe and applies so beautifully and smoothly, either with your fingers or with something like a Real Techniques Domed Shadow Brush or a MAC 217 or 239. I think you could use just about any brush to apply this and get amazing results. While this shadow is called “matte” the look and feel of this is silky/satiny and lush. I haven’t tried this yet without a primer but I will probably give it a try just as an experiment. The colour range with these shadows is pretty limited (I think there are only 5 or 6 and all but one – a glittery dark grey/black – are matte) but I’m already planning to go back to get at least one more – shade 06 (Earth), which is a similar dark neutral but more brown toned than grey.
I sure hope these are not limited edition because this is a great product and one I might actually finish one of these days!
Update: because I was going to be home today, I figured I would try this shadow without a base. Let’s just say I’m glad it was a “home” day because this shadow creased, although every time I’ve worn it with a base, it has lasted beautifully. I do always apply a fairly moisturizing eye cream, so that’s something to bear in mind with regard to the creasing issue.
