These truly are beautiful eyeshadows. The consistency is difficult to describe (so I won’t even try!) but they apply and blend beautifully. You can apply them using either brushes or fingers and they just work. Even my hubby comments on how nice my makeup looks when I wear these & he never does that! The taupe shade is such a universal eye colour that will make any shade pop. I have 4 shades and here comes my only gripe – there is a very limited shade range.

Beautiful color for my green eyes, I bought this and a sparkly gold. I hate the price, and I hate pots….but whatever, they’re beautiful, they blend, and most importantly don’t irritate or burn on me, so I will fork it over.. Over primer they don’t fade, very little anyway, and blend really nicely.
The ombre matte has a very subtle sheen, like very subtle. I will buy more colors, and I really hope Clarins makes more. They are definitely NOT cream to powder, just a super finely milled very pressed powder. Don’t know why they call them that.
So happy that Nordstrom lady stopped me, and let me play with these. 🙂

I’ve already started a review category for these shadows but just under their general name and figured that since I’m likely to be buying still more of these (I have 2 already and will probably get 2 or 3 more), I should start reviewing by colour, so this is a copy/paste of my review for 03/Taupe:
I don’t know if these shadows are limited edition or permanent but you should do yourself a favour and run out and get at least one of these.
I purchased this new formulation of eyeshadow (think L’Oreal Infallible but without the glitter, shine, sparkle and more glitter) in the colour 03 (Taupe). The shadow itself is like a pressed powder/cream (not so creamy as a MAC Paint Pot, not so glittery as Chanel Illusion d’ombre) – it really is rather hard to describe but absolutely delicious to work with. 03 is a very grey taupe and applies so beautifully and smoothly, either with your fingers or with something like a Real Techniques Domed Shadow Brush or a MAC 217 or 239. I think you could use just about any brush to apply this and get amazing results. While this shadow is called “matte” the look and feel of this is silky/satiny and lush. I haven’t tried this yet without a primer but I will probably give it a try just as an experiment. The colour range with these shadows is pretty limited (I think there are only 5 or 6 and all but one – a glittery dark grey/black – are matte) but I’m already planning to go back to get at least one more – shade 06 (Earth), which is a similar dark neutral but more brown toned than grey.
I sure hope these are not limited edition because this is a great product and one I might actually finish one of these days!
Update: because I was going to be home today, I figured I would try this shadow without a base. Let’s just say I’m glad it was a “home” day because this shadow creased, although every time I’ve worn it with a base, it has lasted beautifully.
