Olivia is one of the Chantecaille Mermaid Matte cream shadows, new for summer 2018. It’s described as grey, but it has a touch of blue (although it reads more grey on my lid than in the pot) which makes it a great light-medium neutral. I thing it would work with any liner, but I use grey to bring out the grey of the shade, or navy or brown to do the same. The shadow is matte, but has a bit of luminosity to it when applied, though I can’t see any shimmer in it. It comes packaged in the usual Chantecaille pot, which makes for easy access (it’s wide enough to get a finger or any brush into it, and I apply with fingers). The texture is a little drier than that of the shimmer shadows, although I don’t find it difficult to work with (I apply with the pad of my index finger, so it’s warmed up a bit). It doesn’t have the chameleon quality that Triton (shimmer) does, but I love it equally well. Would I repurchase? Probably. I think I’ll use it enough for it to become a favorite, and the shade is light enough to be good for year-round wear. It makes a beautifully elegant eye with just liner and mascara, and works well with pinks and berries on cheeks and lips. It’s more versatile than I expected it to be.
