   Huda Beauty’s Obsessions palette in Electric contains nine powder eyeshadows. Six shades are matte [bubblegum pink, sunset orange, bright yellow, Barbie pink, medium teal & cool red] and three shades are shimmers [medium lilac, medium blue & aqua]. I’m really into this more compact type of palette now, where every shade is something fun and unique, that doesn’t waste space (and therefore our money) by including the same kind of basic highlight/crease/transition shades that the average makeup lover already has – I’m sure that we all have plenty of neutral shades that we love, that we can use with this [although I’ve happily done multiple looks using this palette only].

   The mattes in the Electric palette are on another level from the ones in Huda’s first eyeshadow palette [the Rose Gold palette]. I’d say that they’re more similar to the ones in Desert Dusk formula-wise; buttery smooth, mega easy to blend, great to mix together to create new shades and they have next to no fallout. The shimmer shades feel exactly like the mattes do formula-wise. All of the shadows are non-fading, and I haven’t experienced any creasing – I apply them in the morning [no primer] and they’ll still look good in the evening, when I remove it. The metallic shades have a bit more fallout in comparison to the other shadows which have very little, which isn’t a dealbreaker for me but I still thought I’d mention it. Fallout in shadows doesn’t really bother me as I do my eyes before my base – all pigmented & softer shadows have fallout, so I do think that all good-quality shadows should kick-up a bit.

   Any disappointments? There are two pink mattes in the palette, which I think is a waste of space – after application and blending they look too similar and bleed together. I really like pink eyeshadow shades, but with only nine product pans to fill I think that another colour should have been used, or at the least one of the pink shades should have been given a different finish.

   There are only nine shades in the palette, but the pricing is reasonable enough to excuse this, especially considering the awesome product quality. The powders are a pleasure to work with; the shade selection just screams “fun and happy”. Just a quick price comparison for those scoffing at the small compact size [it’s smaller than my hand]; you are getting 10g of product in this 9-pan palette for £25 and just 8g in a £43 ABH 14-pan palette. I’d definitely replace this palette if I lost it as most of the shades are unique in my collection, and I’d happily recommend the Electric palette to people who aren’t intimidated by bright shades and don’t mind using multiple palettes for one look.

   Also; some of Huda’s palettes and tubes come from China, but the cosmetics come from America, Germany and Italy. They are a privately owned company and do not wholesale.

   I know I’m going to get a lot of thumbs down for this review, but I’m going to write it anyway. First, I don’t pay for any Huda palettes. My friend gets them for free from Sephora, not Huda, because of her large Insta following and I get to try these for free and talk about them with my girlfriends on reddit and my local roundtable.

   My first point – the palettes are made in China and yet they’re sold for $27, because you’re paying for the Huda name.
   My second point – that same Chinese factory or lab tech will make a “dupe” put it in similar packaging and sell this same palette for $9.99 on Amazon – wait a few and go buy it there – because it will be the same thing!

   Overall, not worth the money. If you want to invest in eyeshadow, buy from Makeupgeek and even Morphe has upped their quality quite a bit this past year and still sells eyeshadow palettes for a fair price.

   Im in LOVE with this mini pallete, its perfect for travel, the packaging is perfect, small compact and has a mirror, now to the shades ???? there stunning , so pigmented and blend out beautifully , i use my p louise base under these shadows or my revolution conceal and define and both work so well with the shadows, the shimmers are super buttery and look stunning on the eyes. Would defintley reccomend this pallete and would 100% buy again. ????

   This is not the kind of palette I normally buy, but I’m glad I did as it’s more versatile and easy to use than I anticipated.

   I like the compact size of this palette. The pans are tiny but I never hit pan on eye shadow so that’s not an issue. You need to build the colours up to get them to look as vibrant as they do in the pan, but again that’s probably not a bad thing as building up colour is more foolproof than grappling with super-pigmented shadows.

   The palette is good for creating gradients – like a pink / orange / yellow sunset. The colours also layer nicely, which is good if you want a green effect (yellow + blue). The blues are especially good (as blues are tricky). The ‘red’ is the only disappointing colour as it’s really another pink – not red at all – but at least it’s non-staining.

   This is a perfect little palette for those that enjoy a pop of colour on the lid or even more elaborate looks with multiple colours. I like that it’s small in size because I don’t wear bold colours on my eyes every day and a huge palette would have just been too much.

   The quality of most of the shades are quite good for the price point; nicely pigmented without being too “pressed-pigment-impossible-to-blend”, although the blue does take a bit more work. I usually wet my brush for that one but that’s not really a deal breaker for me since blues are notoriously difficult to get right for most makeup companies.

   The packaging is very pretty too. My only gripe is that I wish the closure was magnetic or snap-shut so it would be easier to travel with. This is easily remedied with an elastic band though.
   But all in all, I love this palette and I wish more companies would make palettes this size. They’re just a lot less overwhelming than the bigger ones because let’s face it, not everyone is a MUA or a Youtuber! 😉

   I’m a die hard neutral eyeshadow girl. I didn’t even own any colors other than a couple of purples, but I’ve been wanting to get out of my comfort zone and try something fun.

   This palette is small and is relatively cheap, but the quality is amazing. The pans aren’t tiny either so you get a decent amount for $27.

   There are 9 colors in all, I don’t think they have actual names. There is a cool toned bright purplish pink (matte) a cool toned darker purple (shimmer), bright orange (matte), bright electric blue (shimmer), yellow (matte), hot pink (matte), teal/denim (matte), sky blue (shimmer) and red (matte).

   They are so highly pigmented, they swatch beautifully and blend out perfectly. That being said I’m not 100% sure it’s the same formula as the bigger Huda palettes, but it’s still good. It’s perfect if you’re just experimenting with color and don’t need a huge rainbow palette. I love making cut crease looks with this, the shimmer shades foil beautifully with a bit of setting spray. It’s going to be perfect for summer!

   I couldn’t find this at either of my local Sephora stores, I had to order it and they said they couldn’t keep it in stock, so pick this up! A very decent alternative that I went ahead and got while waiting on my Huda is the Violet Voss Rainbow Palette. It’s gorgeous if you’re looking for something colorful around that price point, but I go for my Huda palette nearly every time because of the matte shades. The VV palette has similar colors and the pans are much bigger for an extra $3 over what the Obsessions palette costs but all of the shades are shimmer or duo chrome so it isn’t quite as versatile.

   If I had to have one complaint about this palette, it’s the lack of green shades. If Huda came out with a bigger electric themed palette with a broader range of colors I would definitely buy it!
