I got the palette in Skyscape Dusk. The colors are gorgeous! They are different shades of mauve, all of which are beautiful. My only complaint about this is the texture of the shadows: it’s very chalky. So you have to brush off the excess or else it just sits on your eyes. The pigment is pretty good, though, for a drugstore find. Mine lasts pretty much all day with very little fading. For me, this is worth it, but be forewarned, if you are used to higher end brands like UD or Christian Dior palettes (my favorite), the chalkiness might turn you off from using it.

This is such a great drug store/pharmacy product! I wanted to buy my favourite MakeupGeek eyeshadows but I saw these at a fraction of the price and thought I’d use each of the colours in the pack (I have rooftop bronze). I usually only like a couple of the colours in a set, but I use all of them in this one.
The colour payoff isn’t as good as Mac and MUG, but it’s still great for the price and ease of buying them. I’ve found it best to use either my fingers or a wet brush and I haven’t even bothered with an eyelid primer and the lasting power is still great. There’s no smudging even after a sneaky afternoon sleep!!

I have this in the shade Chill Brunch Neutrals. The colors are gorgeous!!! I love to use the matte mauve color as a transition shade, use the dark purple on my lid and foil the silvery metallic shade over the dark purple. I love them so much I have hit pan on those colors but…the reason I have hit pan on them so quickly is because the matte shades are so powdery. But I really don’t mind because the colors are so pretty and the price point is good for six colors. So formula could be better but overall, I am happy and would buy again.

The palette I have is not the one in the picture. It’s more of a natural and nude palette. The darker shades are very pigmented and strong, whereas the lighter shades barely show up and I have to layer it before it pops. The whole palette is good for just about only one look, but you can do whatever you want with it. The pans are deeper than other palettes I have. The formula is very soft and velvety and easily blendable. It doesn’t streak much, so overall very good. The only problem I have with it is that some of the shades have fallen out completely and is a bit overpriced for my liking. The palette is quite small for the $10 it is. But compared to most other palettes, the price per ounce is very reasonable. The shadows are very pigmented in the first hour, but I find that they wear off very easily. It smells like my grandmother. This is one of my go-to everyday palettes and is very versatile and easy to use. Great for beginners and those who want a chill look. Packaging is minimal. Overall, good product.

I purchased this in the shade 520 Skyscape Dusk. It is an ALL MATTE MAUVE-TONED eyeshadow palette. This is the only of these mini palettes that spoke to me as I’m a HUGE fan of matte Shades on my aging eyes and Mauve tones are my absolute favorite. There is a beige skin-toned Base shade, a very faint light pink brow highlight shade (or can also be used as a Base). There are 2 medium Mauve transition Shades/lid Shades and then 2 deeper Mauve shades (one plum toned & one more red toned) for the outer V and for lining the eye. If you are a fan of a more subtle, blown out eye look then you will love these. They are VERY daytime/work appropriate for a casual eye look. If you like an in-your-fave extreme eye look, you will not like this palette, although you can use the two dark Mauve shades to deepen up your look (or if you have darker skin) or to make a night time appropriate look. These matte shadows are not chalky and do not exaggerate the crepey eyelid skin that comes with age. They blend super easy. These colors really make green eyes POP. These are feminine/girly/romantic Shades. If I want sparkle on my lids, I add one from one of my ABH Modern Renaissance to complement the look, as many of those tones are in the same color spectrum. I like the super slim, palm-size of this palette as it’s great for travel or carrying in your purse. This is the perfect, inexpensive drug store priced palette if you love mattes & mauves. I’ve been looking for this for a while and just happened upon it. Highly recommend it. Wish they’d put out more all matte palettes such as one with all purple tones and one with all grey tones.

Rooftop Bronze palette is phenomenal. First time I’ve ever had to repurchase an eyeshadow palette bc I hit pan in 2 of the shades. It’s soooo good. Extremely quick and easy to apply and all the colors work together to give either a simple bronzed look or a totally dramatic smokey eye. It’s very versatile and I recommend it to everyone that compliments my eyeshadow 🙂

I’ve always been curious about these palettes since they seem to get universally good reviews by Youtube and the blogosphere. Great reviews? No, but good. I’ve never bought one since I use shimmer on my eyes sparingly and prefer an all matte palette. Well, low and behold, they now have them. I bought “Skyscape Dusk” which is pinky/lavender/mauve palette. Not *a lot* of variation between colors, but I did like the overall shade and of course that it was matte.
As to application? Eh. Disappointing. First off, quite dusty imo. On the eyes, after sweeping a color on, I felt like saying, “did I just do….anything?” It requires A LOT of build up, and even then the colors seemed drab and muddy. I’ve used it twice now. I like to give a palette at least 3 wears before I give up.
I wonder if there’s a lot of variation in quality between these palettes. I get the feeling that some of them have better quality shadow pans. I’d pass on Skyscape Dusk if I were you.

I have the City Mini x Shayla and I love that little palette. There are not that many palettes I would happily repurchase if I lost them, but this is one of them. Its nicely pigmented, blendable, and long-wearing on top of my Milani eye shadow base. The warm brown color is very buildable so that if I apply it with a fluffy brush in the crease and then with a flat brush in the outer V and lashline, the shadow looks a lot more intense where I apply it with the flat brush. The beige shade is beautiful and can be applied sheer or more opaque as well, and all the colors show up on my NC 42 skintone. I can get a daytime eye with the light beige, warm brown and the gold inner corner highlight; I can also get a purple smoky eye, a red-brown and gold evening look, a copper eye, a beautiful copper and gold halo eye, a neutral eye with a pop of purple in the lower lashline, its quite versatile.
Yes, I love the CM x Shayle palette. The only con is that the shadows are so creamy and soft, I wouldn’t travel with them for fear of them crumbling right off. I’m probably going to try the all matte city mini palette next.

When these came out, I swatches one and left the store with 3 different palettes! The formula of these shadows are very buttery and they blend well. The pigmentation was so much better than I expectedand the shimmers/metallics are very eye catching and i live the compact size…BUT I cannot to a whole eye look with these palettes because there is either no mattes our just 1 matte and the finish of these shadows would be to overwhelming put all together but I have found they play nicely with other shadows so I can use one if these gorgeous blinding shades with shadows from a different palette which I often do. And the highlighting shade under my brow bone usually comes from one of these.

This is for the Matte About Town palette that is, at the moment, apparently exclusive to Walgreen’s. I was stoked to get this, and disappointed in its performance. It *looks* like it should be a wonderful set of neutral shadows, and the pigmentation is pretty darn good, with a fair bit of fallout and dusting, but the colors on don’t really match what you see in the pan. They are much warmer on than they look like they would be, and the 2 lid shades are either too light or too dark, and the same is true for the 2 crease shades. the “liner” shade looks like it should be a nice slightly plummy brown (at least to my eye) but it goes on oddly warm. It’s nicely pigmented, but its about the only shade that’s really a keeper in the whole palette. I’m sufficiently disappointed that I might actually return this – For $10, Maybelline, you can and should do better than this. I won’t throw in the towel on all of them yet, but was mightily disappointed in this one.
