I bought this last spring/early summer and hadn’t used it, so I got it out and have worn it from Tuesday to Friday this week. These are my observations, ahem. I bought this palette for several reasons: HC is cruelty-free and budget-friendly, the set looked convenient with pretty much everything you need to do your eyes included (except mascara), and I knew I could reuse the tin box if the shadows ever run out or I get tired of them. I like the tin because it’s pretty, seems quite sturdy, and closes securely with magnets. It’s a little bulky, so not great for carrying in your purse, but would be convenient for a trip. Inside there are nine eyeshadows, a sponge-tip applicator, a mini eyeliner and tube of eye primer, a mirror, and an illustrated how-to guide. One of the cool aspects of this kit is that they’ve given the eyeshadows names instead of just numbers or nothing at all. The names are kind of silly, but at least they’re not anonymous. I got the ‘natural’ set, so the shadows range from ivory to dark brown and taupe. Four of the shadows are matte, two are satiny/shimmery, and three have glitter, so there’s a nice variety of shades and finishes to experiment with. Considering the texture, the shadows are in general soft, smooth, and easy to work with. I used a fluffy brush to apply one of the light colors all over my eyelids, and then a sponge applicator to blend in a darker shade on the area right above my eyes. Some of the shadows do have some fallout, especially the glittery ones, so you have to watch for that. I seemed to gravitate toward the middle three shades, which are all really pretty, although I found myself blending in some of the darker matte shades to get the shadow a little darker. I am a fair-skinned person, so if you need super-pigmented shadow, this is probably not for you. The box says “Natural Eyes,” and that is what you will get–so far so good. Now for the not-so-good: the eyeshadow colors vary in their lasting power. One day I used Elf eyelid primer, another day I used the HC primer included with the kit, and the other days I didn’t use anything. None of these options made the shadow last more than a few hours. I do have oily eyelids, but I also have other shadows that last longer. I want to try applying the shadows with a dampened applicator and see if that makes any difference, but I didn’t have the opportunity before writing this review. I also haven’t tried the eyeliner, because I usually don’t wear black, but I would try it in an emergency. (It would have been nice if the eyeliner was brown.) So here’s the takeaway: this is a nice little kit, and if the shadows are pigmented enough for you, it would be a good buy. It’s pretty, it’s convenient—you don’t have to work hard to get a simple but finished eye–and it’s fun because of all the mixing and matching options. (And I haven’t even tried the looks on the how-to guide yet!) It would be great for someone just starting out with makeup, or a young person, or someone who just likes the natural look or easy and convenient makeup. I definitely see myself working this into my makeup rotation and trying new looks. If I ever use up any of the shadows, I could pop another depotted one into its slot. It’s not a perfect product, but I think it’s a good one. Yeah for fun, easy makeup!

The finished result was great but this product is really hard to work with.
I have the palette in Natural and the final effect is striking and something I am happy with but it does require a lot of careful effort and the amount of product that goes onto and then ultimately falls off the brush when you tap it is insane. I have never seen so much eyeshadow come off before.
I can’t use this product on a work day. It is just too fiddly and I know I will be paranoid all day about how much may fall onto my cheeks. I didn’t think I was using my brushes any harder or differently than usual.
Just an issue I don’t have with most other brands. There was so much product in the basin after the tap off.
The tin packaging is a little ‘cheap.

I have the sassy and natural eyes palettes. The shades are for the most part well pigmented, the palette has a good variety of colors and textures (mattes!). I use these on an everyday basis for easy looks, the palette is versatile. Really helpful basic eyeshadow starter type of product with good quality. Glad I checked this out.

I’ve never bought hard candy eye shadow before… never really paid the line much attention either… until a golden tin caught my eye. curious I opened it up and immediately got excited. a tube of primer, an eyeliner, and beautiful eye shadow for $8? sign me up. I fell in love as soon as I used this palette. the shadows are soft, and very blendable, definitely worthy to be mentioned in the drug store hall of fame.I got the nuetral palette, because Who can Go wrong with nuetrals? it was so amazing I’m going back for the other two.

This is a Walmart gem! It caught my eye at Walmart when I was browsing the makeup section so I read a few raving blog reviews and picked the neutral eyes palette up. Great pigmentation and lasting powder along with the new eye primer that comes with it. Major bang for your buck here. Pick one up, you won’t regret it. I’m going back to get the Smokey palette.

I have the Natural Eyes palette, and I really like it. The case is small and made of metal so it is sturdy. The shadows are very soft and pigmented. There are shimmers, mattes, and a gold that is basically a glitter. The colors are pretty cool-toned. They blend nicely together but all of the shades also look pretty as a one-shadow look. When used with the shadow primer that comes in the palette, the shadows DO NOT BUDGE. They don’t crease, fade, or smudge even after 12 hours on oily eyelids. They come off really easily with a cleansing oil. This is a good alternative to the Too Faced Natural Eyes palette, and it is only $8 at Walmart. Definitely worth a try.

These palettes are fairly new, and I HAD to make a review about them.
first, I’ll start with the packaging. It’s like a metal, or aluminum container, that opens like a book. They come in three choices, sassy eyes which is a pink box, smokey eyes which is purple, and natural which is a gold box. Each “kit” comes with a little tube of Hard Candy’s amazing eye shadow primer, 9 eye shadows, (Most of them are matte, 3 or 4 are shimmery)
a little black eye liner, (which is also amazing!) an eye shadow brush, a mirror, and a little instruction booklet for different looks.
I’ve only tried the “natural eyes” palette. My local wal-mart never gets new Hard Candy products, so when they do, they sell out FAST. There were only three left, and I only bought one in case I didn’t like it. It was $7.98 which is an amazing price, and I really regret not buying all three, because I know they will be gone when I go back, and they probably won’t re-stock them. So if you can get your hands on these, DO IT.
So far, the “natural eyes” is amazing. I bought it four days ago and I’ve used it everyday. the shadows it has are perfect for a taupe smokey eye, which is my favorite look, I haven’t tried the shimmery shades but it comes with a very sparkly gold color which is super pigmented, and I’m very excited to try it. The primer, is amazing as well. It’s very light weight but does a great job and makes eye shadow last all day. The eyeliner is nice and soft, and a true black.
I am in love with this palette, and I’m so happy that it comes with everything you would need for an everyday look. The palette is held closed with a magnet, so you can just throw it in your purse.
