   The reviews are pretty mixed and I can see why.
   Personally, I enjoy this little palette and I’m getting good use out of it because
   1: I don’t own many yellow/gold/green tone shades
   2: I can easily get 3 looks out of this without needing to think.
   3: I travel frequently and this is easy to bring along for 2 or 3 day thing.

   The mattes apply and blend really nicely, even that dark brown is easy to diffuse.
   The issue is that the shimmer shades are a little lackluster and there is fallout. You need a slightly tacky base for them to show true to pan. The thing is, not everyone has that or has the time to use one. The idea of a mini palette gives the hint that it’s meant to help you save time, and laying down a sticky base first kind of defeats the purpose.
   I like the few looks I can get out of this and I find it suits my skintone and hair pretty well (NC20, bleached blonde).

   I ordered this palette by mistake from Sephora’s website. I really wanted the Holiday/LE Gold mini palette but they looked quite alike on the site and I (online shopping hater that I am) ended up clicking on the wrong image. I realized quite quickly after trying to use this palette and ending up with gold fallout on my cheeks as well as being unable to find the Dark Sepia shade I was hoping to use! Because the price of this little palette is small, I contemplated keeping it figuring it had some okay neutral colours but in all honesty, it’s just NOT a good palette, which explains the low re-purchase rating this has. The interesting looking green/teal “duochrome” shade looks lovely in the pan but is poorly pigmented and a real let-down. The gold on the right hand side looks lovely too but is laden with fallout. There are so many better gold eyeshadows out there. The other 3 shades are just “blah” – so no reason to keep this. I just hope the Gold palette (which I did re-order) is better quality. I am returning this Mini Star palette later today. I keep reading how great ND’s shadows are but based on this palette, I’m really disappointed.

   I bought the Mini Star because I was drawn to the color theme but realistically would never splurge on the large palette. Excellent move from Natasha to release the mini versions; they’re enough to enjoy the color theme, compact and affordable. Win!

   This is my second mini after Mini Nude and after reading the reviews I was worried that I might have made a mistake. Glad to be wrong since Mini Star is lovely too.

   I can have a perfect everyday look with Bellatrix (medium metallic peach) on the lid, Atik (light matte peach) on the lid and Earth (medium/dark milk chocolate brown) as a smoked out liner. I can also have a statement look alternating between Orion (medium teal/brown duochrome) and Cosmo (shimmery medium greenish gold) on the lid.

   The mattes apply smoothly with a fluffy brush while and the rest look best with fingers application. No issues with creasing or fading.

   I also like the packaging – nothing fancy to see here but very cute and compact like a small chocolate bar and the clear lid makes so easy to spot.

   Honestly I could not be happier. Still not convinced to try any of the larger palettes but have an eye on the 02 5-pan and the Camel palette.

   Recently sold this at a blogsale for practically pennies.

   Very underwhelming. I was immediately drawn to the shades and had to have it.

   The far left and far right shade are the two more unique ones I guess. And the fallout was insane. Absolutely insane

   The three inner shades was a warm brown transition shade, a deeper brown and a peachy champagne. The same variety you have in likely every palette you own. Yawn. They looked fine but completely pointless and not at all what I wanted this for. I don’t think I’ll try any more from ND.

   This was my first Natasha Denona purchase and I was excited to try these shadows out. Unfortunately, the shadows disintegrated when I swiped my brush across them. Very disappointed.

   Its cheaper than her other quints for a reason – the quality isn’t up to her usual and the shades don’t match the original Star palette (some have been changed). Orion the green/brown duochrome shimmer has a really weak green flash so its mostly just a weak brown shimmer. Mac Club or even that Wet’n’Wild one has better duochrome effect. Cosmo, the gold shimmer has lots of fallout, needs a glitter glue, and is not nearly as creamy as the other ND sparkle shades. The mattes are ok, but a bit firmer pressed and not as creamy. The Lila palette is better quality.

   The Natasha Denona Mini Star Eye Shadow Palette is the first eye shadow palette that I’ve liked so much I wanted to buy a backup. This palette has the right amount of mattes- two mattes- one light and one dark enough for powder eye liner- and three shimmers- one shade light enough for the corner of your eye, one shade for the crease, and one for the lid. The blue shade is almost a duochrome. These are pretty pigmented and buildable- to get the most color payoff I recommend using a very firm, short bristled, chubby eye shadow brush. If you use a brush that is too fluffy you won’t get the benefit of how buildable these shadows are. Definitely a palette I’m loving! My video review can be seen here: w
