I bought two loose mineral eyeshadows in the shades bronze sparkle and choc fudge cake
Bronze sparkle – is a golden bronze shadow, very bright and shimmery, but not glittery (despite what the name suggests).
I was very suprised with how pigmented and smooth the eyeshadow is and when I apply it I do not get fallout, even without a primer. Once on it’s very dimensional and doesn’t need any other shadows to look good, It’s almost red coppery in the shadow and bright gold where the light hits. it blends out seamlessly without getting dull. I’ve went on vacation and all I bring is this eyeshadow, it’s very summery, pretty and easy to use.
HOWEVER! you do need a good primer, even bordering on a glitter primer as this does crease throughout the day and has no staying power on it’s own. It’s basically just mica with iron oxides so I’m not suprised. So you shouldn’t touch your eyes when you wear this as you’ll smudge it around.
Choc fudge cake – a matte warm brown base with purpley-blue microglitter (it’s basically a duochrome). The glitter is very small and non-gritty. The shadow is perfect for one shadow looks. The more you blend it, the more matte brown comes forward (probably because you blend the glitter away). It does take some work to blend it out how you want but it’s not patchy at all. I do get some fallout when I blend. Usually after blending I apply with a damp brush the shadow on the lid to get some intense purple shine on there. It’s very beautiful and has better staying power than the bronze sparkle shadow, but still needs a good primer.
There are some issues with staying power with both shadows, and some fallout with choc fudge cake. However I’m so impressed with the overall smoothness and pigmentation that I’m completely willing to work with it. I do not recognise the comments that say they are dry and lack pigmentation. I think this is definitely not the case with the shimmers (can’t speak for the mattes as I haven’t tried them)
I will probably purchase one or two more shimmer shades, in the future. If you do want to try a shadow, pick bronze sparkle. It’s my favourite shadow I have ever owned, and I own plenty of expensive, high quality shadows.

I was drawn to this brand because they claim they are Gluten-Free, and regular shadows often irritate my eyes. I purchased the Silver one, and it has its good and bad points. On the plus side, its highly pigmented so you can get an intense metallic effect. It gives a stunning effect on younger eyes.
On the negatives, well there a few. You will absolutely need a primer as it creases VERY easily. Expect more fall-out than most other loose pigments, so its best to do your eyes before your foundation or use a shadow shield. Its very messy no matter how careful I am. Also the texture feels dry, and doesn’t blend or sheer out well so it isn’t versatile as my other shadows. Meaning it looks good for clubbing but you can’t get a refined blended out day look. Finally, if you have older eyes like mine, this makes my lids look all scaly like a lizard. Which my Bobbi Brown metallic silver shadow doesn’t, and my other brands of metallic shadows don’t either. If you have older 30+ eyes, I wouldn’t recommend the Lily Lolo Mineral Eye Shadows.
Also packaging has been upgraded since these earlier reviews, apparently Lily Lolo has listened to the customers and added a twisty close mechanism that closes the holes for when you are travelling (like a salt shaker). This helps to contain the mess so it doesn’t poof a ton out when you open it anymore.
Overall, I feel US $12 is kind of pricey for the quality. The website is attractive to use, and they do give samples. But based on the shadow I tried, I would not re-purchase.

I have the eyeshadow Soft Brown and have tried to apply it on several occasions, but I just do not seem to get the effect that I am looking for. Unfortunately, this eyeshadow creases very easily and needs a primer to stay halfway put. The packaging on this eyeshadow also is not really conducive the easy distribution. I have to shake it around a lot, and trying to swirl my eyeshadow brush in there is never a successful venture. I prefer Alima Pure eyeshadows because they are easier to work with. I would not repurchase.

I have a love/hate relationship with these eyeshadows. I love the satins and metallics; I hate the mattes as they are too ‘flat’ and difficult to blend (in my opinion). But they have great longevity and don’t crease. They are so messy to use it takes me an extra few minutes to apply them without making a mess but they are not unique in that respect so I’m not marking them down for that. I adore pairing Gunmetal with black eyeliner for a great alternative to a smokey eye.

Overall, I’m disappointed in the quality of these shadows. The formula is much more dry than other loose pigments/shadows I own and is very hard to blend. I’ve tried using the shades I have wet and dry and nothing really works.

UPDATE: Initially I liked black sand but I’ve changed my mind. Not pigmented enough and is a dull colour that doesn’t cut it as either shadow or liner.
Hush is a muddy dull pink and gold digger and green opal are fine glitters that dont last. Im giving up on LL.
if you look at the website everyone LOVES the shadows and give them 5 stars. It always looked a bit suspect and now I see why.

Initially received some e/s as a present and although I loved the colours they creased really easily but I tried them again with UDPP and fell in love!
With the primer the colours last for more than 12 hours and stay intense, I love that the shadows are blendable and buildable and that they don’t have many additives. They are so pigmented!
The only reason I took off 1 star was because they need a primer to last, will def repurchase.

I am a devotee of the entire LL range and have switched out most of my old eye shadows for LL ones, mainly because they do not irritate my eyes and truly are good value for money.
The range of shades available is extensive and several of them are absolutely comparable in beauty and quality to MAC pigments, except at a fraction of the price.
I would recommend using a primer before applying any of LL’s mineral shadows to prevent possible creasing and add intensity to some of the softer shades. A light dusting of mineral foundation over the lids can also be used with a similar primer effect.
One thing I really would love for LL to address is the design of the containers. They may be cute, but travelling with the products is a nightmare as you can bet the powder will have spilled up into the lid and ended up in a tiny heap, meaning you need to be very careful not to spill it all when you reopen the pot. Some mechanism for sealing the holes would be good.

Beautiful colors. Stays put all day!

Fabulous eyeshadows…I use them everyday even though most of them have shimmer. The color range is fantastic, there’s plenty to choose from and are all easy to mix/layer…I put e/s on at 8 am and after 12 hours it’s still there, almost immaculate…even when I work out!! Lasts forver when paired with a good eyelid primer (mine is from Benefit)…shades are all very wearable, but there’s one in particular (Cream Soda) which is just PERFECT if used as a concealer on undereyes and little blemishes..if your skin is in the light-medium range with yellow-peach undertones you should definitely give it a try!
