I was looking for a new gold eyeshadow and stumbled upon this one by Kat von D. Thrasher is super pigmented, although has a lot of fallout if you’re using the wrong brush. It also applies better wet than dry, but still blends well. The color is more yellow than it seems online, but it is still undeniably a metallic gold. The color also does not fade throughout the day. At $21, this single eyeshadow is pricey, but it is still a lot of product. I enjoy this shade enough that I would consider repurchasing.

This is my second review of a KVD Metal Crush Shadow and I have to say, I am again let down. While I happen to like this one a bit more than the other I purchased (Raw Power), I don’t like it as much as I had hoped.
This color is beautiful in package and when swatched. Upon application, this shade loses some of its glistening frostiness. I find that I really have to pack this on, and it MUST be applied wet. If I apply this dry, the opacity is translucent and this unique color is turned into a boring one. For me, this shade works best as a “pop of color” – if/when applied to cover my entire lower lid it just fades out too quickly (while my non KVD transitional and upper shades stay). Really it’s because this is a very interesting goldish green shade that I haven’t seen eleseware that I give this 3 stars.
I feel pretty let down by KVD shadows. TBH if I hadn’t of tossed out the packaging i would return the one’s I purchased. I mean, for the price ($22) I really do expect more. I hate to say this and do so at the risk of p*ssing off some KVD die-hards but I have numerous Colorpop shock shadows that knock this stuff outta the park.

I’ve had this on my radar since I first saw it and finally purchased it along with the Anastasia Renaissance palette. A rich, bold metallic gold with just a hint of glitter magic happening. As the other reviewer states, the texture is excellent, good pigment with very minimal fallout.
This shadow works well as a full-on “foil” application, or just as a warm wash of golden glow.

I F****** love this! I didn’t think it was possible to get this excited over a gold eyeshadow but this one has me geekin! LOL It’s so shiny and metallic I could die! It’s also a unique shade of gold. Very old school and what I like to think of as true gold. If this doesn’t make you feel like a rock star then idk what will. Give it a try!
This one is very pigmented, extremely soft, easy to blend and can work in any situation you want to rock gold. There doesn’t seem to but a lot of fall out either. The packaging is pretty and seems sturdy but the one I have is kind of a pain to get open. Maybe I just need to grow some nails. Very much recommended!
