I bought this shade from the Metal Crush eyeshadow line on sale for $12.60. At full price it is $21, which is a lot for a single shadow. The name of the shadow, Black No. 1, is a bit deceptive as the name is a reference to a song and the color of the shadow is not precisely black. The shade is more like a gunmetal with blueish reflect. Compared to other shadows in the Metal Crush line, this one is more crumbly than the others. I also perceived it to be more sparkly than metallic like the name implies and compared to the other Metal Crush shadows. The shadow is long lasting, especially with primer, but does have a lot of fallout on application. I would consider repurchasing this shade because I like the impact of the sparkle. I would not, however, consider this shade to be the best in what is otherwise a lovely line of shadows.

Oy. So not pleased with this. My thoughts about this is: what in the world is this…? First off, the packaging of this feels like dollar-store little-girl play makeup. Cheap feeling and looking. Secondly, I purchased the shade Black 01 (or whatever it is called). Hardly any pigmentation (hello, black?!?! where you at?!?!), and this is not even remotely black. It looks like a light olive green with tons of silver shimmer (that falls out all over the place), and is incredibly terribly patchy. Even if I ended up liking this as an olive green eyeshadow, it is just so incredibly not pigmented and is so terribly patchy. Did they not test this..? Is the person who tested this color blind..??? 🙁 Maybe I got a dud.
KVD products for me seem to be either really love, or really dislike. This one sadly falls into the latter category. Wears off super fast too. $21.00 for a single shadow (sorry that is crazy expensive for one shadow) with hardly any pigmentation and wears off almost completely in less than 2 hours. This one is definitely going back. As much as I dislike returning things, this one is a huge fail product for me.
