Add me to this list of fans. As much as I love purple, I tend to stay away from it as an eye makeup color because it never seems to work and I always end up looking stoned or super tired. But I really like this – not so much as an eyeshadow but as a smokey liner. I like to tightline with a black pen liner and then use a small pointed brush to smudge this into my lashline. Very pretty and not too overdone or smokey. Staying power also seems pretty good, especially combined with another type of liner.

Among the best eggplant purple shadows out there. Blending doesn’t ‘darken’ the colour which often happens with this bluish purple with other brands. Nor does it become red or look patchy. This type of purple is far more difficult to find than plums and rusted purples. Lasting power is far better than most purples (not plums but this type of neutral purple). Never irritates my sensitive eyes even when used along lashline as liner (ie particles cd get in my eye but if they do unlike most purples it doesn’t result in irritation)

I love matte eyeshadows as they are very interchangeable. This colour is a pure purple . I wear it with naked lunch as well as with a matter vanilla type shade not from mac. Mac has made their refills very affordable now so I buy these more often. This shade an also be used for a smoky eye paired with carbon or other color of your choice.

Eye shadow pans are now $8 CAD. I really love MAC eyeshadows. They last a long time and do not have a powdery fall out. Very pigmented. They also have a great colour selection.

I am in love with this color. I love purple eyeshadow. I know people say it is best for brown eyes but it really brings out the green in mine. I bought this to use as liner and for the outer v. I liked that it was cool toned. I have so many warm purples and they do bring out my eye color but my skin tone looks best with cool shades so I try to mix cool and warm shadows in the same color family. This was probably the prettiest purple ever. I love vibrant grape, fig1, plum dressing, etc. but this is definitely the best. It is very pigmented (not like plum dressing) and so blendable. It doesn’t compliment green the way a more red based purple will but it is perfect to use along with other shades and will look amazing on both brown and blue eyes as well. Every one needs this color in their life.

I needed something to replace my favorite Tarte purple shadow and bought this. It’s not love. It’s not the usual MAC quality as far as the shadow and pigmentation. It takes a lot to build it up to the color I want, which is abnormal for MAC shadows. Just ok.

Add me to the list of fans of this rich purple (which leans more blue than red, which is good for me). This used to be a “Pro” colour (I guess it still is but it’s more readily available now). My collection of purple shadows is on the low side so Indian Ink was a welcome addition. I really like it on the outer lid and in the crease with light taupe, a lighter grey or lavender shade (Too Faced’s Cut the Cake is a great one) on the inner part of the lid. For a more dramatic look, I will apply Indian Ink all over the lid and crease and then deepen the crease and outer corner with a darker shade (MAC Typographic or UD Blackout, applied sparingly). It’s a really good, reliable shadow and when you consider that a lot of MAC’s matte shades can be a pain to blend, I can say that Indian Ink (a matte) doesn’t share that characteristic. I would happily repurchase.

Amazing color. A deep, rich, matte, exotic purple-blue. The pigmentation is good, I just subtracted one lippie due to its small lack of blendability. It takes a bit more work in order to look flawless, but the end result is rewarding. It looks so impressive all over the lid for a smoky eye, it’s got just the right balance between blue and purple to make brown eyes stand out and look their best. It’s also very interesting on the bottom lashline, or even on the outter V as part of an otherwise neutral look, if you don’t wanna go all out but still need a hint of color. Haven’t tried it on the crease yet, but I’m sure a color such as this one would definitely add a rock/vampy twist to any simple or boring look. It has become one of many favs. If you can get your hands on it (pro product), definitely go for it. Will repurchase.

Gorgeous purple, all the reviews so far are accurate. It looks misleading in the pan but put on the skin, nothing but WOW. It looks stunning as a liner or definer shade but it just is so creamy and dark and super blendable. I highly recommend this shade especially if you are a purple e/s lover.

One of my Alllllllllllllllllll time favorite purple’s from Mac. Very pigmented dark purple and blends like a dream. I use it in my crease, and put Fig 1 on the lid, and looks awesome! I’m so glad I made the trip to the Mac Pro and got this shadow.
