To start, I have a love/hate relationship with this palette.
Loves: Colors, I love the color scheme of this palette, they’re all colors I would and could use on a daily basis. The lovely pops of color – the metallic green and dark navy blue shade.
Hates: I feel like you really need to work hard to blend out some of the shades. Some of the shades even get muddy. They’re definitely not as soft and buttery as the Modern Renaissance palette.

One of my favorite pallets ever! Love the colors! ABH is prob my fave eye shadows ever.
Just enough coral for a fall or big ol’ pink (and maybe gold or emerald) spot. I would recommend ABH to everyone who loves this fancy sachets and dark f/umones.

Are these colors dupable? Yes. Are they basic? Yes. Do I still love this palette? Hell ya! The eyeshadows are so pigmented, which is really important to me. I suffer from severe eye allergies and have extreme dry eyes which has resulted in me having dark circles and severe dark lid discoloration. Consequently, I have a really hard time finding shadows that actually show up on my lids without using primers and bases. (Not talking about drugstore shadows either.) Honestly, even after using a primer AND a base, eyeshadow colors didn’t show up right. I didn’t even want to put in the effort to wear shadows because it just wasn’t worth all the effort. Then along comes the Mario palette to the rescue! I don’t have to wear any primer or base and the shadows are as rich on the lid as they are in the pan. They stayed on without creasing for 6 hours! They are soft and creamy and easy to apply (particularly the matte shades). The shimmer/satin shades are not as creamy but they are still pigmented and blend well. The brush that comes with the palette is great too!

Another thing I feel like was super hyped up and I felt like I needed to get my hands on. I was never TOO interested in this until it released. When I saw it was available on Ulta’s website, I ordered it. Unfortunately when I received it, it was smashed and I had to return it. I went back a week later when it launched in stores and got it. Also can I please say, I HATE the kartrashians, so in no way was I ever interested in this because Mario does Kim’s makeup. I used this 2 days later when I was getting ready for work. The colors looked way different/darker/warmer than I was expecting and I was so pissed because I didn’t have time to change it. Lula was WAY darker/warm than it appears and Paris was warm/golden/dark. I thought it was like a light, shimmery taupe. I used the olive green one day with a matte brown from another palette and did like it, but it’s just olive green, I can get that on it’s own or elsewhere. I tried another look one day, not sure what I used, but it was pretty, albeit warm, but I just felt like I could make the same look with other things I already had. The quality is good and the colors are pretty but I just don’t feel like I NEEDED this, especially for $45 😐 I think a lot of it has to do with I don’t wear a ton of smokey looks since I wear glasses and think it looks weird, so maybe if I get contacts i’ll want to use this more for smokey looks. I think since it’s more earthy toned instead of the usual basics I was drawn to it. Also, I may like it more in the summer for bronzey looks. I guess I’m glad I got it since it was LE but i’m just not in love with it.

I am genuinely surprised at the ratings for this. This is a great smokey palette, with the same quality shadows of Modern Renaissance, but with much more versatile and flattering shades. You can get a warm or cool look out of this, instead of just warm. It does have fewer mattes and is more expensive for what you get, but this is great for making a dramatic eye. I use a mix of lula and Isabel up into the crease, then can take pretty much any shimmer shade for the lid, I use lighter colors for when I want a more lit up look, and the darker ones one I really want a dramatic look. Violeta is my least used shade, but it can but a good smudged under the eye. It also has shades that are great one and done, marina, 5th ave and Hollywood are all fantastic for this. The only thing I find is missing is a brow bone highlight shade, but I have enough of those. Wish this one weren’t LE.

I hate to give this such a low rating, but it deserves it. I tried and tried to make this palette work, and after two months I tossed it. I’m so glad I got it for free using my Plenti points, so I didn’t waste actual cash on this disaster. The shades are pigmented, but the glittery colors are muddy when blended, and the green and blue shade blend out to brown. The matte shades do not blend well, and are very patchy, no matter what I tried. The only color I actually like is Hollywood. I had to bring in other palettes for lighter shades and transition, which would have been fine if this were an overall good palette. I just can’t rate this more than a one, and I don’t recommend it.

The shades in this palette are pretty and the pigmentation nice but as a mature woman I found that this palette was a bit too glittery for me. There are some colors that really are unique but overall not such that I found it worth the price. I recommend that you use the tester in Ulta to make sure the texture of these will work for you – especially if you are over 50.

I was expecting so much out of this palette because of how much i love the modern renaissance one but i was sadly very let down. Ive come to realize that while anastasias mattes are the best matte shadows ive ever tried(in my opinion), their shimmers are among some of the worst. There are only three matte shades in this palette & they blend & go on just like the ones in mr. Very pigmented, not patchy & blend super easily & well without getting that “muddy” look like a lot of matte shadows get when blended out. I also like that even though they are matte its creamy & soft, not dry or chalky like a lot of mattes tend to be. If this was just another palette of mattes it would be perfect but unfortunately no. The shimmers are just a mess, most are very similar in color & there is like zero pigmentation to them, very glittery. Also as soon as you try to blend they go muddy & sheer out super bad, it looks ugly. Only way to make them slightly workable is using tf glitter glue & even then they get too muddy & the colors dont stay. Im most disappointed in the green & blue shades aka bronx & claudia. They look NOTHING like whats in the pan once you put them on your lid, claudia is like a muddy brownish black with not even a hint of blue & bronx applies as a dirty brown sewage water color. When you go to blend it just makes you look like a racoon. Ill give this palette two lippies just for the mattes & if abh releases another palette i will stay far FAR away if it has more shimmers than mattes like this one. Seriously the ud naked palette(s) shimmers perform better than there ones & that is saying a lot for anyone who has ever used them

I love this palette so much I bought two (im so sad that it’s only limited edition…) The colours are a gorgeous range of earthy tones which I find to be very unique compared to other neutral palettes I have. They’re so pigmented and buttery, which is expected of Anastasia shadows. I absolutely love this palette.

I find the colors in this palette to be very pretty and earthy tones look better on me than brassy or trendy red colors. I am disappointed that there is not more variation in the lighter shades. Like someone mentioned previously when you blend the darker shades they seem to go everywhere. I would say you definitely shouldn’t use a fluffy brush when applying these shadows unless you’re doing an all over color. I use a tapered, dense eye brush to apply them and didn’t have issues with patchiness. The pigmentation is great, but the burgundy and gold shades all look the same on me (NW15 skin). The shadows are smooth and you barely have to swipe your brush to get a load of shadow. The lasting power is great. If I wear it with primer, it will fade some, but you can still see it at the end of the day. Overall, I like the quality of these shadows and pigmentation, but the variation of shades in the pan and on my eye is disappointing.
