Basically goof proof smoky eye in a cream shadow stick. Bark is a dark cool toned brown. Applies smoothly and blends easily with finger or brush. I pair it with NARS Bellissima eye shadow duo for a quick smoky eye.

Awesome eye shadow stick, stays on all day and a nice cool toned dark brown. Really easy to work with and blends nicely with fingers or brush. Stays on well. Love this product!

This is a goof-proof smokey eye. You can scribble it on like a 5 year old and it looks sexy. Good, cool toned very dark brown. No smudging or creasing; stays put even on waterline.

I so love this product. Fair warning, I work for the line. However, I am NOT loyal only to BB and I tend to find flaws in her items too, just like everyone else.
I find that her powder shadows often lack pigmentation and velvety/butteryness that I’m in search of.
This product is so much perfection, for several reasons….
1. I am not a classic makeup artist, so i was trained after i got hired to work in cosmetics (prior to BB but I learned most during my time at BB up to now.). This product? It’s foolproof.
2. You don’t have to know how to blend perfectly, and to hold the product in your hand is so easy. It’s really not that different from using a regular crayon. ; )
3. The length of wear is awesome. You put it on, and have about 5 seconds to fiddle with it and blend a bit or maybe wipe any excess off, etc. Then….it sets. ALL DAY. Until you actually wash it off. My lids are oily after a 10 hour day on my feet, and the shadow actually still looks amazing or even better. My own coworkers who are TRUE makeup artists actually compliment me on my eyes!!! And I’m not even close to being an expert (imo!).
4. The texture is sooooo creamy and smooth. This color, Bark, is a woody chocolate brown, no shimmer. There are at least 3 other non-shimmer colors:
vanilla – a creme ivory
sand dune – a pinky tan
shadow – a slate grey
Then there are Iced blue (GORG frosty blue, do not be afraid), Plum (i think) and it’s shimmery in a tasteful way, Forest, a forest green shimmer, and Golden Shell, a goldy pink that is high shimmer but not a TON of glitter or anything. It actually doesn’t show up too much if it weren’t for the shimmer, so the shimmer makes all eyes pop. Definitely a good center-lid “pop” color.
For summer, we had a couple that were LE, but I’m spacing on the names. They sold out fast and not sure if BB will repromote or not. I recall they both were bronzy. Nothing really that different from what Golden Shell could provide.
Price is: $28, which granted, seems steep – but a little goes a long way, these are going to last you and if you cap them, they are going to stay nice and fresh.
Packaging: it’s certainly fine, but I feel like they could have been a little more special in packaging for what you are paying. I clean my tips with an alcohol soaked cotton ball, and this works fine to keep them in good condition.
Other Misc: I get asked a lot “can these be used as liners?”. Truth is, nothing in makeup is off limits. If it’s safe for your lids, you know it’s safe to use as a liner. But, you won’t get a fine precise line…the tip is round and “fat” in a way, so you’d have to angle it really well to get probably a medium-width line, and that may not work for everyone. But it’s up to you and your creative little hands how you opt to use it. I just wouldn’t use it for like…lip liner! LOL.
Available: at Sephora, Nord, Macy’s, BB.com, and probably many others. Right now, our store stock is low, but we can order the product no problem (and Macy’s does it free).
Check it out: if you are on BB’s list of clients, you should get a mailer from Macy’s (if you use them) and it talks about these sticks….this allows you to get a free sample of mascara (and if that runs out, the SA needs to pony up something else as a sub!). FYI!
