I bought several Ellis Faas Eye Lights and Creamy Eyes. The actual product is beautiful. There are many eye shadow colors in the market now but I think Ellis Faas colors are unique. But the bullet used to house the eye color is awful. I had one end piece fly off across the room. After I found it I could not snap it back on. So much of the eye color wasted. I had several others break in the same spot. I wish these shadows could be repackaged. I have used YSL eye concealer for years and it has a similar design. I’ve never had a problem with it.

My review is for the Ellis Faas Lights in E301 antique silver. The product was absolutely gorgeous, it was my favourite eyeshadow for a special occasion. One day I went to use it and the end exploded off. I decanted it into an empty container hoping it would still be usable but it’s just turned rock hard. The beautiful expensive packaging is just not feasible.

I bought a stack of Ellis Faas products when the brand came out. I’m just a sucker for gorgeous packaging and I thought the pens would make application really easy. I bought the lights in lilac and silver and the holographic burgundy green. All are nice products and great colours BUT I actually found the packaging bad. The products don’t come out evenly, you twist once or twice, wait and nothing, twist a few more times and nothing, twist again and a great gush comes out. They dry out and when you wash the brushes they are pretty much ruined and you can’t use them to apply from then on. So even tho I liked the colours especially the holographic shade I won’t buy them again. I also thought that it’s a shame they aren’t refillable, it is such a waste throwing away such quality pens.

I fell in love at first sight when I saw this molten metal holographic eyeshadow. It was on an Ellis Faas showcase by a yt beauty guru. It most certainly caught my eye with this duochrome goodness that shows up amazingly.
The packaging is the known Ellis Faas one; a silver bullet that twists and the applicator has synthetic bristles. The colour is best described as a “holographic bordeaux” and is in fact a pretty redish brown base with emerald green ultra fine shimmer when the light catches it. It is the most unique eyeshadow colour I own and it is really hard to descibe how beautiful it looks in person. The consistency is that of a liquid eyeshadow and it dries in an instant so be quick if you want to blend it. When you first open the pen, you have to twist it several times to release the product, just be careful not to do it quickly as you may waste some product (It’s 2.5ml or 0.085 oz). I’ve heard by many that it tends to dry out easily if you don’t clean the applicator but I’m hesitant at the moment and I will explain why. This dries and doesn’t crease easily on your eyes, I have really oily eyelids so I prime them with a bit of UDPP before LIGHTS. After it dries out, it won’t smudge, it won’t come off even if you rub it really really hard but.. its cryptonite is water. Even a tiny drop will disolve it right away. So I’ll restrain from cleaning the applicator at the moment, as it is not clogged.
As for a make up look, I usually apply it on the lid and then blend it in the crease line. I then apply some brick coloured eyeshadow on my upper crease so it has an even shade continuity from bordeaux to brick-ish and then I blend it to my browbone. I then put some hightlight on the browbone, a thin eyeliner line across the lid and I’m done.
It really worths every penny.
